My daughters bike has the lowering kit on it. It does feel like the handle bars are higher than my bike is, because the back end is squatting down and your weight is shifted back.
If you don't need the lowering kit I would find a set of standard dog bones and replace them. You can sell the lowering kit here or on EBAY. |

It's supposed to be upright. It's not a supersport.
You can get some clipons that will lower the bars a bit but the limiting factor will be the gas tank. This is for older Ninjas but essentially the same thing. You'll get the idea. http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/I'd_lik..._about_clipons

If it has a lowering kit, it's not in the bars, it's in the suspension.
Pics will be needed or a closer in person look to see if it's been lowered.

Depends upon what type of kit it is. Some of them have multiple holes that you can just move back up to stock height.
If you don't need the lowering kit it is much better to remove it. The bike will handle better with less chance of scraping metal parts in the corners. To add a picture hit the Go Advanced button, then Manage Attachments, browse and upload your picture, then close the attachment window and make your post. Oh and welcome to the forum. |

Does it look something like these?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/1710633...&ul_noapp=true If so move the one end to the other holes. I can't remember if longer lowers or raises the bike, I'd have to measure mine and my daughters. |

If you're wanting that ZX6 supersport seating position, no, it's not possible on these bikes. The Ninja's are designed to be more upright, like a standard bike. You can get clip ons that will lower your hands a little bit. The suspension has nothing to do with the rider triangle, IE the relationship between the bars, seat and footpegs. You're going to be upright a bit. The suspension has to do with how close to the ground you are. It would also be good to confirm if the front has been lowered with springs at all too. If you raise the rear, it will make it harder for your feet to be flat on the ground or for you to touch the ground at all. If you're shorter, you might not want to raise the back end back up. Think about some of this and we can go further.

I know when I sit on my daughters bike, which has only the rear suspension lowered, it feels like I am sitting even more upright, almost leaning back and the bars feel higher. It is very strange swapping back and forth between the two bikes. |

But if this guy is thinking the Ninjette is a mini ZX6, he will be disappointed.

The other thing is his bike may have the bars raised or moved back a bit. That is sometimes done by short riders to reduce the reach.
Pictures of the handlebars and the rear suspension would really help. Also as you stated asking the previous owner if the front springs were lowered any too. It's all just guessing at this point without actually seeing the bike. |
