Just wanted to say hi

I just wanted to say hi. I was an occasional lurker in the past. But today i finally joined. What finally pushed me was that i have wanted a motorcycle ever since i could walk.
The ninja 250 was actually of the motorcycles that pulled me back into the motorcycle scene after drifting away with prices way out of my league. But then i discovered the ninja
300. It seemed perfect for me. Great gas mileage, enough power for what i need, looks good, cheap insurance. Whats not to love. Well i decided i should go to college while i
had the chance so the 300 now is out of my budget. So that brings me here again. As a first bike i am looking for a used 250 or a dual sport of some sort. So i want to learn
all i can from you guys here to make sure i do it right.

My hobbies and passions are:
-Cars
-Motorcycles
-Bicycles
-Guns, especially long range precision shooting
-Video games
-Computer building
-Straight razors
-Fountain pens
-History
-Math

I am currently a mechanical and civil engineering student.
I am also dyslexic, so forgive and spelling errors in the future. As you can see, i had to edit my first post!

Welcome! I have a thing for fountain pens, too. Pens of all varieties, really, but there's something about a beautiful fountain pen...

Yes, i like them all as well. But there is just something about fountain pens that draws me towards them. Maybe it is just the engineer in me.
Maybe when i get my 250 i should name it fountain pen so i can write all over the roads!

Besides History, foutian pens, and dyslexia we sound like we share the same hobbies. I took a bunch if college level engineering classes, but I decided to join the marines as an aircraft mechanic instead of going to college.

Always, its good to hear you are looking to learn on a 250 and not going to get yourself hurt. Looking forward to hearing you getting a bike.

Thanks for the welcome.
I hope i can get one soon. I did see someone actually post a 1999 ninja 250 for sale for 430 dollars some what close to me. It is missing a few parts. But it looks like it is missing everything i was going to take off.
That is a great job as well. I was going to job the military as well but then i became diabetic(cue the price is right fail music).
I have to ask then, did you get your user name from the AAC honeybadger?

Welcome,

Used Ninja 250's, especially the pre-gens 1988-2007 are easy and cheap to find and still a great bike with plenty of power.

No, I got my nickname from hanging out at a friends house and trying to chose an Xbox username. I said "I don't give a ****, I just need something so we can play halo." And it reminded them of the honey badger don't give a **** video that was popular at the time, and it just kinda stuck.

Edit: aperently I don't know how to link a YouTube video, so here is a link instead.

I remember that! I saw it first on Snipershide.
You should see the honey badger political party video then. It is narrated by the same person.

Welcome
We have many similar interests. I am also sylsdexic. I have to edit most of my posts not because im dyslexic but because the spell check puts different words in my sentence.

I love cars and bikes and bicycles.
I have raced them all. .

I have had many guns but sold them to race.
I now shoot percision airguns in a sport called Field Target

I collect watched and pens .
My latest is a Caran D'ache. Ball point. A gift from my wife.

http://www.penporium.com/CARAN-D-ACH...495-p/2582.htm

And I like to watch knife making. But would cut myself if I had a streight razor. Wow they are sharp.

I also love history and use math everyday.

I love airguns as well. That is actually something i forgot to list. My first one was a Crosman XT storm break barrel in .177 cal i was given many years ago. It is long gone(not by my doing as i loved that thing), but i am in the process of getting or building my first PCP. I think i am going to do a short .22cal 2260 PCP using a Cothran Machine SS tube and breech. I have never tried Field Target. How do you like it?
