Welcome to our site, Eric !!!

If you can, take the MSF course in their bikes rather than using yours.

Welcome aboard
! Good luck with the class, on the last day of mine it rained all day a few weeks back. Was wet all day but I learned to ride in the rain.

Let me know if you ever want to go for a ride sometime! I'm just down in Kenosha.

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on the new bike. You're going to have a blast on it.

It's awesome that you are taking the MSF class. You will ride much better and feel confident. My friend did not take the course, got a R6 and was pretty scared of it, sold it soon after.

Kind of close by - I'm in New Berlin.

Any ideas on some good roads to check out? K-os? Thisisbenji?

I want to ride Wildcat Mountain state park. Take a look at it guys - Hwy 33... I have to get there before summer is over!

There's some pretty nice roads over by Holy Hill. Also about 30 minutes north are the Kettles.

I took Hwy 33 all the way from Saukville to Westby. Nice flowing curves along some pretty decent sized valleys. Gets really tight once you get closer to MN and going through the Amish country.

Excellent! Thanks Andy. I have heard about Holy Hill, but haven't gotten the chance to ride around there. It's not too far away from me either.

I can hardly wait to check out Hwy 33!

I remember when we met up and you bought those Woodcraft clip-ons I had. Good times. Seems like forever ago. Your 250 was the nicest one I'd ever seen.

I usually go ride in the Lake Geneva or Kettle areas. I find the "rustic roads" to usually be good rides when there isn't much gravel. Also Silver Lake, but it's not very fast just a nice cruise. Not sure if I'v been on Holy Hill Rd but it is just west of Silver Lake so maybe I'v been on it. I do know there's a little of good roads in the area if you just take random turns.

We should try to get a ninjette meetup going since we're all somewhat close.

What's the deal with HWY 33 and Wildcat? That might make a good weekend type deal if the riding is good enough.

True story! I know quite a few people who started on 600s with no course and don't ride very often anymore. After taking the MSF and riding a 250 for a few seasons a 600 is no problem to handle.

A Ninjette meetup would be fun! It's hard to find people to ride with.

Yeah I'm trying to get over to HWY 33 this summer. It's a bit of drive though. It would be fun to organize a ride sometime soon. I am free pretty much any weekend. I'll shoot you guys a pm about setting something up. It would probably be good to try in 2-3 weeks - maybe by then all the rain will be done and everyday will be a riding day for the most part.

A HWY 33 meetup would be cool! I talked to the guys at Don and Roys about the road and they had great experiences motorcycling over there.

Definitely. I'll be up for cruises sometime soon. Weekends sound good. We should see how many people want to get together. I'll start a thread about a ride in the group ride area and pm people here a link to it. Not today though - running outside for a run through the twisties near Eagle. Oh yeah!
