Danmoto Jisu vs gp
Hi,
Does anybody have an opinion on the Danmoto gp vs the jisu? Im looking for more sound descriptions. I have searched youtube and at idle jisu sounds deeper. I wanted to hear the jisu fly by but I have only seen one. The video makes it seem louder than the gp. Can anyone confirm? |

I haven't heard the Jisu can personally, but I can only speculate that it would sound a little deeper. Reason being is the can is larger, and with the angles of it, the sound waves going through bouncing around before escaping, I can only imagine that it causes more phase cancelation with the higher frequencies than the round GP pipe.

I don't think they sound very different from videos I've seen. On the Dan Moro website it says all their exhausts use the same innards.

There's clips of both of them on youtube. Watch videos of both and judge for yourself.
Personally I like the aesthetics of the Jisu, I think the angular shape fits the style of the ninja better.

The Jisu is definiately a lower tone. Just make sure if you get a Danmoto, you get the baffle. Otherwise it's way too loud. With the baffles, it's rideable without ear plugs.

I had a Jisu on my bike from day one (bought it that way). Sounded great. I can't speculate on the loudness because I don't know any difference. But I never had to use earplugs...

I'll see if I can get a flyby of my Jisu...but the quality will be bad; standard phone quality.
edit: I didn't get the baffles and don't need earplugs. But I'm not an old geezer either :P |

The baffles make it sound deeper tone. It deflects all the exhaust air into the muffler rather than straight through it. Posted via Mobile Device |

^^ Hmmm, well it's already quite deep, so is it** gonna sound like a 4 stroke dirt bike with the baffles?

Is the Jisu louder than the GP? For those that have a GP, is it louder than a Yoshi TRC? |

Never used the GP, but here are a couple youtube clips:
The Jisu has a lower pitched growl, whereas the GP is more on the higher/loud end. |

Thanks for the clips.
So you're saying the GP is louder than the Jisu ??? I want to get one of them but I don't want it to be loud like a Two Brothers, my trip to work is 45 mins so I don't want to be annoyed. How would you say your Jisu compares to a Yoshimura? Does you baffle reduce the intensity of the sound significantly? |

I haven't heard a yoshi pipe (on a 250) irl, so I can't compare. And, mine doesn't have the baffle, but it would reduce the noise I'd assume.

Your main issue on the highway is going to be wind-noise. The exhaust tends to get droned out by that, with or without the baffle.

Most of them have ordered baffles to reduce the sound. *One guy on Youtube measured the GP CF baffled @ 120dB. Guess i need plugs! With that said a baffle is a must, I guess I'll just pick one based on looks?? LOL Any suggestions between the two.... GP CF Jisu |

I like the look of the Jisu, but it's about preference. And it's still audible on the highway, especially to other people. So, again, the sound preference is up to whether you like a deeper sound of the jisu, or the louder scream of the gp. Don't forget to request the baffle in your order notes!

Can anyone tell me what the two longer springs are for? I got the gp and I LOVE it. Got the baffle also, I wouldn't want it to be any louder then with the baffle. I installed the thing and I had no needs for the long springs as I could tell, only the two small

Couldn't tell you. Mine only came with two. I think they originally packaged it with the long ones, and then simply added the short ones because the long ones were too long.
As for the highway issue -- I don't have an issue at all with the GP and the Baffle. A friend of mine had (he got hit and it was totaled) it without, and we could not tell a difference in volume at idle. |

I have the gp and love the look compared to the jisu model. A buddy of mine has a yoshi and my danmoto is louder. It trips everyone out on how loud it is. Doesn't bother me BC I ride with headphones. I love the cf look but whatever you choose Im sure you will be happy.. danmoto is awesome

Nice... just fyi the existing bolt won't fit through the clamp for the exhaust so you have to drill the holes in the clamp in order for it to fit. Remember to peel off the sticker too on the clamp before installing. I didn't even know bout it until it started to peel after installation lol. Pm me if you have any questions. You'll love it

It's made universally to fit all of their exhausts. Total for the GP CF + Baffle was $140. Awesome Deal! |

I also didnt use the other two longer springs when I installed mine. I emailed Danmoto and they said that you don't need it. Then why the heck would they supply it?

So here we go! Got the package today and spent a little bit of time drilling the bracket holes bigger!
Then I got my clamp on and here we go a tightening, what do you know, the bolt breaks. So I temporarily use a reg hose clamp and off we go riding to Home Depot. I must say, this thing is so loud! Even with the baffle. But it does sound much more aggressive. Not sure if I can ride 30 miles like this! I feel like I am disturbing the peace! LOL |

Well, it is the GP :P
The Jisu is loud, but not extremely loud, as it has a deeper tone. I have no problem riding without ear plugs. |
