Damn shame... please be careful out there and ride within your limits - something we all need to try an remember as we progress with more confidence and greater speeds. May the family and friends find some peace soon. Rest in Peace.

I thought this was a pretty moving post from the BARF thread:

I'm still pretty much blown away by all of this, I got the call during lunch today and I honestly did not believe it until I saw the pictures of his bike in this thread.

I just want to tell everyone a little bit more about Tim, as it tragically sounds like many of you did not have the opportunity to get to know him better. We both went to UCLA and studied EE, he was a year above me. He was fiercely smart but always willing to help an underclassman with homework or a project. He was always super fashionable, most likely due to his older brother's influence (his older brother was very artistic & did a lot with music videos and graphic design). He started at Nvidia a year before I did and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. We both shared an interest in cars, he had a modded GTI, I picked up an Audi after chatting with him about German cars. I remember the mail delivery guy hated us because we kept shipping car parts to work (heavy stuff like coilovers, wheels, etc). I started riding right before I started at Nvidia, and Tim had always talked to me about his desire to ride as well(he originally wanted to ride a cruiser-style bike in all black, like a nightster), but he was always concerned with the risks and dangers involved. I left Nvidia after a few years to pursue other career goals, but Tim and I kept in touch pretty frequently. When he was deciding what kind of bike to get, we talked about all the potential options for him: an older ninja 250, a ninja 500, perhaps even a sv650. He took the MSF before he got the bike, failed it the first time on the figure 8, but passed it his second time around. He complained to me about how much good gear cost, but he bought all of it. He was so happy when he told me he had picked up a newer ninja 250. He was hesitant to take it to work right away. He practiced on the weekends and at night on local streets. He just rode on the freeway for the first time pretty recently. He was pretty much doing everything that he was supposed to do. He was safe, he was careful. I guess that is why I still can't really grasp that he's gone.

I apologize for rambling, I still can't believe this happened to him, and I don't think I can say enough to properly do justice to the person he was. He was an amazing person and he had a lot going for him. I will miss him dearly.

Rest in peace. Sad to lose another rider :/ pretty intense damage to his bike. An unfortunate reminder to never ride past our limits and take it easy on the streets
