Have you had people try to take pictures of you yet? It's the weirdest thing, ain't it.
And it's not like we're wearing bootyshorts and stilettos for the attention.

I just pretend like I don't hear or see them.

Have any of you female riders actually wore heels while riding (non passenger) ???

Although not safe...could be incredibly "amusing"

Nope. Well, unless you count a slight heel in a moto boot but I doubt that's what you mean.

Seems like suicide. **** awful to shift, can't move your feet on the footpegs right. Poor balance at a stop, it would kill your ankles and of course your feet would be reduced to hamburger meat and splinters in a crash.

Ain't worth it. Pack the heels with you or take the car.
Same with the bootyshorts. And tank tops

The coolest thing that happened to me would be how my little nephew fell in love with me on my bike the first time he saw it. He would just go crazy and leave everything behind just to be with me and the bike. I was like a superhero to him. Now he is in Canada and my sis tells me that every time he sees a bike he yells my name... lol

I went into my local doughnut shop in full race leathers riding my beat up ninja 250. The cashier starts asking if I ride and such and we get to talking and he walks out with me to check out my motorcycle. He thinks it is awesome as all hell and asks if he can take a picture and yes btw this is the White ninja 250 I have that I got for $300 and is beat to all hell haha. He ended up giving me free doughnuts too for giving him such a good conversation haha made my freakin day. Ohh and the doughnuts were delicious one was filled with nutella.

I recently realised that I'm so old, that it doesn't matter what I wear. I was sitting at an outside table at a restaurant - wearing all the gear - with my bike 15 feet away. It was quite busy and a group of four (very attractive) teenage girls asked if it was OK if they sat at the table too. "Of course" I said. They sat and proceeded to have a very intimate conversation about boyfriends, social standards, and what was going on in their lives. I gradually realised that the reason that they were having such a very personal conversation in front of me, was because as far as they were concerned, I was invisible ... irrelevant. I'm approaching 50, so to a teenage girl I'm no longer considered to be a 'male', I'm just an old person.

:-(

Not weird at all. Never underestimate the sexiness of a woman on a motorcycle.

The whole attractiveness thing works both ways. Lots of posts here about how girls see the bike and the leathers and take notice. The reverse is also true. How appropriate the reaction is is a different matter. Lots of men have no class. But trust me… we ARE paying very close attention.*

I think part of it is that the posture when you're on a bike is suggestive to begin with (either gender).

There's also the way the riding position emphasizes your curves. Heels are sexy not so much because they make you taller, but because they change both the way you walk and your posture in a really wonderful way. Straddling a bike seat and leaning forward does similar things.

* Note for the guys: You may think you're subtle when you're checking out that hot chick, but trust me: It's painfully obvious. I learned this once when I wore a kilt (yes I'm a Scot by heritage) to my nephew's college graduation. I had the experience of the glance that flickers down to my legs, over and over. I was amazed at how easy it was to spot.

So yeah… LOOK AT HER EYES, okay?

I don't want my photo taken. That's weird as **** and somewhat violating. I don't ride or wear gear to be someone's personal spank rag material.

I don't ride to look sexy. I don't ride for you, or anyone else. I don't wear my gear because it looks more pleasing to others. And I don't find it a compliment to be oogled at, photographed and treated like a ****able zoo animal.

I ride because it's fun, it's cheap, it's cool. To me. I wear gear because it keeps me safe. I wear a heeled boot while riding because I like a firmer footing.

I don't mind a glance. A notice. That is 100% natural and I will totally check out a good looking guy or girl briefly, myself. But I don't want comments. I don't want to be stared at. I don't want to know how hot I look or what they think about me.
I don't know why guys think every girl is an attention-seeker who only knows how to gain it through her body; but it's no fun for someone who has worked a long ****ing day at a hard job, is tired, nasty and covered head to toe in gear to deal with someone spitting "game" about how they would **** you at a stop light.

Yes, it's weird.

Yes, it's weird.
Well said and to add, it doesn't happen on motorcycles only. The culture of harassment (sexual and or otherwise) and the desensitization of it, is somewhat expected on forums like these where males out number women. It's very predictable and sad. It seems that you run into it (this type of mentality), in almost every motorcycle forum.

With polite respect, if this is the prevailing opinion, my suggestion is to **** off.

Americans are so oversexed it's disgusting. It's to the point where men just hear sounds from a woman and think she's somehow getting off, even if it's the moans and cries of childbirth or feeling genuine pain!

It bugs the crap out of me whenever I hear those damn "she said" jokes. I've gotten to the point where hanging out with the general public I want to rage quit the whole human race. Am I thin skinned when it comes to sexual innuendo? Probably. Do I feel like I should be able to go a single day without having someone take something completely unrelated to sex and warped it to find some perverted sex joke? Yes!

Sorry about the thread jack, but I see comments on forums (even here) that absolutely disgust me over the way women are viewed.

Trying to be classy

There are times attractive women catch my eye. I am blessed with a smart attractive wive who is secure in our relationship, who knows I would not do anything to endanger a wonderful relationship. She has commented to jealous wives "I don't mind if he looks, he's a man, its healthy that he can admire beauty. I'm okay with him even getting frustrated...because I know he comes home to work out his "frustrations" with me".

The classy part is yeah, my eyes will flit over an attractive woman, but its a momentary pleasure, much like catching the attractive scent of a flower. Part of the beauty is the intransigence of the moment. Lingering overmuch cheapens the experience.

A few times I have seen a woman with wonderful hair, or clothing that really flatters them. A few times I have been bold enough to compliment their hair or clothing. Sometimes that is too much, and I have found the way to diffuse that is to add, "I was just imagining how wonderful my wife would look in an outfit like yours"! Its real, and sincerity seems to be noticed.

The whole staring and oggling thing is just ...crude.

But let's face it, that is just about physical appearances. The whole concept of a woman who is active, fit, independent and adventurous enough to ride motorcycles, that is a whole other criteria of attractiveness that goes beyond the mere physical.

Sadly, a glance of admiration for the later is by far and large indistinguishable from a leer due to the former.

Yes, it's weird.
A two way street, I think... I mean a lot of motorcyclists go out and vlog or record their rides; in the process capturing video of unsuspecting people out and about. I'm sure many men and women in that situation - like you - would object to that given that its without permission. Having said that, whenever I do go out with my camera curiosity has always trumped indignation...

Personally, I don't see any difference between a dude in a car visibly taking a pic and some random dude at the end of a security camera...

At 1,700 a pop ... you could buy a (pretty good) used bike for the same amount as the batman costume.

Having that GoPro hanging off your helmet would probably scare away anyone the Ducati attracted.

I crashed into a deer at 130 km/h (80mph) and survived while wearing my gear. Pretty fricken cool.

Funnest day out on the motorcycle. Not because of the ride but because of a five-year-old girl.

I'm at a stop sign and there's a family trying to cross. The girl is just staring at me, so I give her a wave. Her face lights up and she waves back. They're almost at the sidewalk when the girl glances back blows a kiss and walks away. Made my day!

Here's hoping 20 years from now, I read about a 25-year-old woman killing it at MotoGP.

Thread zombie says sorry.

Coolest thing would have to be bugs and rocks hitting my face shield and not my face.
I dig it.

i have had a couple of things, ill split em up and ill list what little gear i have.

and black work boots, so nothing special at all, but i did paint my ninja and most importantly it glows with 255 kawi green leds.

back on topic.

Good
lets see, walmart had a kid and his grandma stop and ask to take pics, i let him sit on it.

teenage girls that live down the street whistling and waving.

tons of times at gas stations kids stare, the thing i love is like @iceknyght when i wave they light up. its even better when i flick on the LEDs and they flip out

Craziest thing got pulled over for "passing on the left of a car turning right on a street that has HUGE lanes, big enough to pass with a car" and the first thing the cop asks is "where did you get the lights" i told em i did em my self for under 20$ and he asked for my card. then he fussed at me for passing the car.

Bad

i went into a gas station had my helmet on with the tented visor and had my springfield XDM 40 compact on my hip. when i got to the counter the guy put his hands up and then i handed him 10$ and said 10 on 2 please, and walked out. Now i never go into a gas station w/o cash in my hand holding it up.

if you think we're bad, you should see the rest of the world! americans are more about violence and guns and loud explosions and eagles and trucks that go fast in a straight line. the ol' in-out never hurt nobody i don't suppose. you know outside of rape, starving children, maybe some kind of spousal abuse murder scenario... maybe a dry friction burn from not enough foreplay... i digress... i bet prison rape would suck, though.

$1700 isn't that bad for a full leather suit, as I recall.

I pity the poor bastard who wears that in the summer in Texas, though. It's going to be 105 degrees today.
