what turns you have problem with the most...?

Regardless whether you're just starting out like me or you're a veteran, we all agree that as riders we never stop learning. while we might be great at doing certain things on our bikes, but I'm sure there are still some things that you struggle with.

back on topic... which turns do you have problem with the most...?

I'm not as quick on the right-handed turns as I am with the left-handed ones... I'm pretty sure it's not a rookie thing because I hear others talk about not being as fluid in some turns also...

Steep downhill turns scare the bejeezus out of me.

The ones that catch me are decreasing radius turns, doesn't matter if there's elevation changes or not.

I never know how long to stay wide, and I always have trouble staying off the throttle long enough to not be heading into the tight section too hot.


I love downhill turns, because then I really get to exaggerate 'slow in, fast out' by going extra slow in, and using the throttle extra to keep the bike stable and coming out faster than normal. Just make sure to slow down more than normal for entry

Its not a matter of a certain type of corner for me but when I switch from the ninja to my shadow and I still ride the same way I get scared that im gonna drag the highway bars.

Sharp decreasing radius downhill turns always catch me off guard. I know they are there, I anticipate them, but still end up crawling through nervously.

I think I read that, here in the States, lefts are easier because we're on the outside of the turn and so we have a wider field of vision vs the right hand turn we are on the inside and so have the edge of the mountain (or whatever) blocking the view.

finding the correct turn-in point for a blind decreasing radius is very difficult.

I'm fortunate? enough to deal with evey kinda turn possible every day due to the nature of the landscape here so the conecpt of having a turn that's alien is unfamiliar to me.

But I guess this reitterates the concept of practice makes perfect.

I can understand that to someone in florida for example, may never have encountered a downhill decreasing radius turn, which is a shame really, if I didn't have the excitement and variety of riding daily I wouldn't enjoy riding so much.

I decend about 200ft to sea level every day from the top of a cliff where I live to my office on the seafront, it's an enjoyable ride.

The ones in the TN mountains, that have deep gravel and a steep drop off.
This one doesnt have deep gravel, but it's the kind I'm describing. I'll slow to 35 or so for the gravelly one

When coming home, there is a corner (2 turns away from home) that beats me every time.

Going from a 40mph secondary street up a pretty significant hill, Right turn to a side-street that is 1-narrow, 2- has a high inside curb, 3 - has significant sand/gravel build up and 4 - immediately begins a downhill away from the intersection.

Beyond that corner specifically, I hate any corner with a crest in the middle. I've not pushed the bike hard enough to know where that point of "unweighting the tires" will happen, so I take those corners very cautiously.

Ran into one today.

Low-speed full-lock turn to the right. I went to twist the throttle to stand the bike up and ride away, but found that I couldn't. My forearm was running into the tank and I had no wrist movement left.

Newish bike, not quite fully bonded yet. Now that I know this ergonomics issue exists I'll work on repositioning my throttle hand so it won't happen again.

Right turns for sure... I'm scared to try it out on the roads since the on coming in from the right side. People never stay in their lanes.. :P
