First start attempt after @ducatiman service.

Link to original page on YouTube.

Still not quite right. Dead on throttle, Erratic idle, High idle, etc.

Probably need to mess with the insides again.

Flush mounts on.

Free tank pad. Looks pretty tacky. On the fence about keeping it on.

Having some sort of starting issue now. Probably just the battery is low.

God I'm so lazy. Haven't done crap with this thing. Cleaned the carbs again. Tuning this is getting annoying. At least the turn signals/all lights work now. Only thing left is getting it to run correctly, and mounting up the mirrors.

I have the bar-end mirrors that mount inside the bars instead of clamping on. The inner diameter of the bars are too narrow, so I will need to bore them out some.

I saw your sale post leading to this thread. A few questions for you. I tried reading the whole thread but missed a few things:

You have a J engine in the F bike. Are you using Pregen mounts and radiator or newgen mounts and radiator? I saw you used the pregen water pipe into the head of the newgen engine.

Do you still have the 2007 engine? You said it ran before it was taken out? Do all the connectors from the newgen engine work with the pregen wiring harness or is there obvious modification/repinning? I'm weighing my options...

I still have the F engine. I'm assuming the connectors do swap over, though I've not done the swap myself.

Update:

Might be picking up a maintained and clean 2005 from Arizona for 1500~1700, and swapping over some stuff from the frankenbike. At least then, I'll have a running platform to begin with.

Attached the Danmoto slip-on. Man, this thing is LIGHT! Fitment is snug. So far, so good.

Leaned the bike on the kickstand and found an oil leak coming from the....side of the crankcase? Whatever that plastic side cover is:

I like starting with something that runs; I've started plenty of projects with broken stuff, they are more rewarding if they don't frustrate you too bad.
