Heal fast so you can continue to improve.... didn't you just heal up from the belt test?

It takes a lot to keep doing things that hurt, even when you know it will make you stronger.
Yep, I just did heal up from the aches and pains from the tests and board breaks. I should have some of the pics and vid uploaded today sometime.

Stay tuned!

I have learned I deal with pain very well, with a smile even. What I don't deal with very well is the burning sensation and the symptoms of shock;

Wild body temperature fluctuations
Nausea
The feeling of uncomfortableness
Higher than normal heart rate
Sweats while feeling cold
And the worst one.... quick response to questions without thinking. It makes you give inaccurate responses to questions to the doc. I respect them even more now, they have to learn to read the person past the verbal BS. Much like a cr.

This is gunna sound really weird but I somewhat enjoy the pain.

So if you're ever at the track with me and I get hurt, please speak on my behalf because I will have no f'in clue what I am talking about.

EDIT: Watch my hands and eyes, if they are shaking or lost, I am not of the right mind.

@Alex - Would you please remove 2014 from the thread title please? I am just gunna continue this as best I can until I run outta energy or money. lol

Tonights addition;

The weather started to get a bit rough; freezing rain, icy roads, cold and so on. I am taking a very slow ride home when I happen upon a young lady and her son (toddler) standing beside their car. After sliding down the hill myself (almost shat my pants) where she had crashed, I walk back up to ensure everything is ok.

All was well thank goodness, but the little boy was pretty scared. I double checked to ensure everyone was ok, and walked back down the hill to call 911 and get services out there in the woods to help. And of course I offered my nice warm car for the lady and boy to keep warm.

After hanging out for a while waiting for the popo to show, we (me and the 5.0) head up the hill so he can take care of his business. We load the car seat in his cruiser and slip/slide back down the hill to load up to go home. Meanwhile, I direct traffic while he took pics and got info. After that, as quick as he showed up, he was gone to handle other calls. Gunna be a long night for that gent, but it seems he was trained very well and knows what he is doing.

EDIT: Coolest part of the whole evening was seeing the young lads face light up when he found out he would get to ride in the cruiser. Because the rides when your older aren't so fun. lol
EDIT 2: +7 hands tonight +1 very small set too

I spent all weekend cutting and splitting a large tree in my yard. I had to cut the tree down even though I didn't want to but I was dead and endangering my house. It was major work and to save time, I rented a splitter. No judgement from the peanut gallery either, I gots to get ready to hit the track in less than 2 weeks.

Anyway... My wife noticed my neighbor (450ft from my house) pulling a tree to his house to cut, so I went to offer my rented splitter and time to help him out. His only source of heat is wood and he was running pretty low. Here in KY, there is a couple months of cold weather still on the calendar.

So... you know what I did. I asked him to bring his truck over to my house. When he showed up, we loaded it heaping full of cut and split wood from my stack and hooked the splitter to the tow hitch. Jade and I loaded in the truck and followed him to his crib and we worked our tails off refilling his stack. We also cut and split what he had too.

2 solid days of work, 2 warm houses, 2 happy families, 1 warm and fuzzy feeling that comes from a personal heat source.

I am starting to rub off on my friends.

64ish blankets collected for those in need. Many of them hand made. Wish I could have been there for the delivery.

400 miles from home doesn't stop me from helping out when I can. As most know, I went to JenningsGP this Feb. And when my phone did the ring, ring thang... I did what I do best and helped as best I can.

Pictured below is my friend Eric who is broken down on the side of I75 with little to no oil in the engine. They know who to call. I arrive in about 30 mins to help as best I can, even if only for moral support. He is lucky this time, he is leaking oil from the dipstick tube gasket. With a bit of rtv, time and fresh oil he is back on the road. And of course with me in tow to help with any further problems.

It is important to find the silver lining in everything. I found 1 new friend and ate some waaaayyyy overprice BBQ because of this unplanned stop. But ya know... I wouldn't have it any other way.

I am having to make a hard choice. I wanted me and my son to write original music to the video for 2014. But due to lack of time, commitments, editing the movie itself, I just don't see how Imma pull it off. It takes sooooo long just to edit the hours of video down to something watchable, add weeks of editing down music and I will never get it done. I am strongly considering skipping the original music idea.

Nah man, do the original music idea. It may take a little longer but it will be worth it since then everything about the video is you, which is a truly unique thing to consider. How many pieces of art do you truly create within life?

It'll turn out well either way though since you have good taste in riding music

I lost my great grandfather "Gib" yesterday. The guy was someone I didn't get to see a lot despite being close. I wish I would have made more of an effort to put more time in... /sigh

I celebrate his life though, he lived life to the fullest until the end and the pictures of his shenanigans at his age was one of the inspirations to this very thread and spawned many colorful conversations around the dining room table at my house. I mean c'mon, let's raise some hell, how many 80yr+ gentlemen will still hold the door open for you, buy you a drink and then cut a rug with ya until 1am. Then call you a sissy when you throw up because you drank to much and he is still stone sober. hahahahahahah The guy was tough as nails too!!! An army vet and when he was hit run over by a car about a year ago, he picked himself back up, got in his truck and drove himself to the ER. "I don't need anything for pain, no thanks." WTF!!!!

He taught me a lot when when I was but a wee lad of 10yrs old; how to put in an honest days work, how to appreciate the little things, how to find value in what others toss away, when to keep your mouth shut about family matters and that a 12yr old swayback pony will still toss your arse on the ground right quick.

Here are a few memories that I have that ya'lls youngin's might not have a clue of;

Hand cranked water from the cistern
Gib: "If you want water, ya gotta crank the handle faster."
Me: "Uggg...."

Feedin' da chickens
Gib: "Here dem hens in the coop? They are hungry."
Me: "Where is the feed?"
Gib: "Over there, but spread it 'round real good ya hear... I don't want all the chicken sh*t all in one place in the yard."
Me: "bahwhwhhahahahahahhaha"

Swayback pony
Me: "Can I ride that horse?"
Gib: "Ole' Mitzy? Yea, but she is purdy moody these days and we aint got no saddle."
Me: "I can do it!"
Gib: "Fine then, let's see ya git r' done."
Me: "I fell off, she don't like me."
Gib: "She don't like anyone much no more."

Old coon dog
Gib: "Stay away from that old black dog out there."
Me: "I already pet em once."
Gib: "Anything else happen?"
Me: "No..."
Gib: "That dog won't hunt no more and pee's on whoever pets em. If he rolls over on his back, run."
Me: , goes to wash hands..... because I knowed I was caught.
Gib: "That'll learn ya...."

Ky lost someone who knew the land, gave back more than what he took, taught more than family and would give you the shirt off his own back if you had nothing but mostly... we lost one of those down home country boys.

I will miss him greatly and spend my lifetime trying to catch up with how many hands he shook.

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family Chris. I lost my last uncle 2 weeks ago (he was 98) also one of those characters from that generation. I'm glad you all could celebrate his life. So much better to send them off with joy.

Thanks Bro.
Not sure why I'm bringing this up but ...
Before I went to the viewing I stopped at the motorcycle shop in that town since I was early. I was talking to the salesperson (she was maybe 25??) and I was getting that eye because she hadn't seen too many suits walk in looking at Ninja 500's. (Too old to be a hipster ...) Any who I told her why I was dressed up and she changed her expression again then said she got news she lost an old friend that day to an overdose. That was heartbreaking. One more reason to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. We just never know what they were dealing with before we showed up... I guess that was my first handshake of a thousand attached to life and riding.

Condolences, Chris and A.P. My fianc lost her mother last month battling lung cancer and then suffered a stroke on thanksgiving in my truck while we were heading to thanksgiving Dinner. My Fianc's father had passed prior to cancer as well so it has been tough on the family. I too lost my father to lung cancer so I know the feeling of loss if a parent. I have no living grandparents now and I have never seen them being that they lived in Vietnam. I was only able to talk to my mother's mom on the phone once.

It sucks to wish you could have spent more times with your loved ones that have passed but it makes you realize you should spend all the time you have with the ones still living while you can.

Careful is the balance between time spent and reaching goals. For to spend one's life for others is a fail to one's self. As a parent of 4, on my day of passing... knowing my kids reached their goals is a heavy burden off my chest. - csmith

I gotta get me one of those signs Teri. hahahahahah

And back to happy things....

After last nights get together with snot, hellmut, choneofakind, tigerpaw and many others, I can add more hands to this thread. It was a much needed good time with plenty of laughs.

The season is getting closer, time to get this thread back on track (both figuratively and literally).

And so the season begins.... and we are off to a rocky start.

Hit and run w/ fatality - rip

4 riders down in one crash - I seen a few of these guys at a bike night once or twice. Don't remember if I ever shock any of their hands.

/sigh....

Crappy pizza and a pocket full of tokens is enough to bring a smile to my granddaughters at chuck e cheeze. My wife told me I wasn't allowed to get into the jungle gym. Good times were had anyway....

After nearly 6 years... my co worker died. Wheelie (her nickname) was great! Didn't need too much attention and did her thing without any babysitting. She had some strange habits but it still all worked out ok. She hid food all over her work area too. It was kinda funny how she stuffed her face with all that food. Many nights she slept in her food too, but when I got to my desk in the morning, all was normally in order. lol Many days while on the phone with my boss, she would make all kinds of annoying noices and such, but I always let it roll off. My biggest regret is... she lived most of her life in solitary without much interaction with others.

ps. She was the hamster near my desk. But when you work at home all alone, you take what you can get. Many days she kept me company when all I had was silence. The squeak of the exercise wheel will be missed throughout the days.

rip...

I was taught something basic by my granddaughter the other day, this important way of looking at things.... "If you put an apron on backward... it's a cape!" - Mia (5yrs old)

Best to all those who don an apron every day!

Sorry about your coworker, our critters become what makes us smile. My kitty is why I take so long to do homework. She likes to lay on my papers and bag.

I like the cape, too. But I do live in a kitchen.
