Turn Signals Light Up But Don't Blink

I finally finished my streetfighter build and got it out on the street today. Pics and full description to come in my build thread, once I get these blinkers blinking.

I have the stock turn signals in the back, but the front signals were smashed so I replaced them with LED lights from Autozone.

I don't have the gauge cluster hooked up at all, I'm just using an old GPS for speedometer and odometer.

The lights all light up correctly when I flip the switch, but they don't blink at all. I was reading that LED's need an electronic flasher instead of the solid state stock unit, but will that work for LED's in front and incandescents in back? Also does the gauge indicator light have anything to do with it?

TIA

Yep, its your thermal stock flasher doing it. Since the front LEDs aren't drawing as much as the incandescent, the "thingy" inside the flasher isn't heating up enough to work.

The gauge light comes into play when all four turn signals are LEDs as it allows some electricity to leak to the other side, giving you a hazards effect.

Yes you need an electronic flasher relay, I personally recommend Tridon EP34 and only this relay

Tridon EP34 Flasher https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00064LQKS..._Selgvb1QHVF1C

You will also need this as well,
2008-2012 Kawasaki Ninja 250R EX250 No-Cut Diode Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BHOGOA8..._Vglgvb1PDC8PM

Thanks. If I just replaced the LED front blinkers with incandescents would that work as well? I didn't buy the LED's for any reason other than they were what was in stock at Autozone that day.

I think I'm going to keep the lights I have on as they're already wired and mounted and I'm not finding any incandescent ones I like. If I put in the electronic relay without the diode kit are you saying that they will blink like hazards @Ghostt? If so how does the diode kit work?

Think of a diode as a one way valve, it prevents the current from flowing backwards thru the circuit, causing the 4 way flasher problem, due to Kawasaki was cheaper by only using a single bulb for both.

Thanks for the link. It looks like I'll just need to replace the relay as I still have the stock incandescents in the back. Going to see if I can pick one up today.

Sounds like a plan, just be sure to pick up the Tridon model.

I got the Tridon relay that @Ghostt suggested. Got everything wired up tonight and it works great! The new relay has three blades, two plugged right into the Kawasaki harness and I wired the other to ground under the seat bracket. I didn't need the diode kit. Blinkers are blinking!
