Oil on my leather glove

I got a good amount of motor oil on my leather riding glove. It was no big deal at first. I thought I had whiped it off, but now its actually "in" the leather. It gets on my visor, my grips are slick......Any ideas on how to get it out and save the gloves ?

I would wash them in Woolite in cold water, wring them out and wash them again. Put them on your hands for an hour or two and then let them air dry. When they are dry, give them a treatment with Lexol--follow their directions. Your gloves should be as good as new.

I've never been able to save a set of leather gloves that got oil soaked. Even after multiple soaks and washes and treatments, they always had some little bit of oil in the leather that would streak my visor and leave prints on whatever I touched.

If you find something that works, please share.

I'm not 100% certain but I have a feeling that would harden the leather and probably cause them to crack.

There are two ways...
Rub some corn starch into the area with the oil then bury them in corn starch overnight...the corn starch will suck up all the oil.

The other method....toss em and get a new pair

Thats a good idea, makes me think of another one. When a cell phone or any other electronics get wet I put them in a container with dry white rice, the rice soaks up all the moisture, I wonder if it would also soak up the oil.

I prefer to soak wet electronics in IPA, then let them air dry in front of a fan for about 12 hours.

Lesson #1: Never change a vehicle's oil while wearing anything you do not want oil on. No matter how simple the job may seem, oil WILL get on you.

Rub some kitty litter into a fine powder and then "chalk" the gloves with it a few times until the oil is absorbed.

My gloves usually get ruined by me using my mouth to pull them off; damn saliva eats right through 'em!!
