stock ex250 wiring harness ghetto rigged?
i found a burnt ground so i traced the wire back to see how far it went and found these connections held over with electrical tape.. it looks to be the stock wires but its so ghetto rigged.. the wires do look oem so im baffled. im just wondering if anyone knows if these are oem connections or someone messed with the wires. i searched but found nothing and have nothing to refer it to.

bro. you're showing us a 480.potato quality photo of some wires that we can't see at all and have no way of knowing where you're looking at...

Hard to really tell from the picture, macro setting might help.
With that said, it could be OEM, the black w/ yellow stripe is the ground for the entire bike, so OEM would need to splice into it along the way. But OEM crimps are easily identified, and sometimes soldered, aftermarket ones look different. ground wires only melt if either the grounding point is a poor connection, or at some point along the line there is a bad connection/splice, resistance=heat=melted wires, and possibly fire, like in your case. I would advise that you resplice the wire, then solder the splice, and finish off with heat shrink tubing.

If the bikes running okay I wouldn't worry to much just make sure they aren't exposed. There are a zillion used 250r wiring harnesses on ebay if it comes to that.

EBay is an awesome source of parts for sure, and inexpensive as well if your patient enough to wait for the deal to come along.

Poor connection, and/or splice that's how.
