And almost a year later...GoPro Hero3+

Is now available. For those hoping for a more Contour/Drift design...nope but you do get a smaller box design now with MOAR battery life? Then the other specs which I kinda overlooked when the design didn't really change. Might be something important in there Reading now...

Well that would explain the sudden price drop of the Hero3

Says it incrementally better. They report a 25% increase in battery life (@1080p 24fps). The shape just seems so awkward for helmet mounting.

I actually just got a GoPro Hero3 Black after having a Drift 720p and Contour+. Yeah not a fan of the shape at all for helmets but it's a better camera it terms of quality. I have it mounted on my chin bar so no teletubby syndrome here Absolutely terrible battery life. The slight upgrade to the Hero3+ would be nice but I'm not sure it's worth that much extra money to me as I got mine brand new on sale for $280. I kind of want another GoPro though just for video quality alone...

Yeah vid quality is pretty good on the GoPros. Don't have the Hero3 but the only way I can get great battery life out of my Hero2 is with the battery bacpac (~3.5+ hrs recording on 720p/60fps) accessory but it's so bulky.

I gotta figure out how to get a chin mount going on my RF1100...darned chin bumps.
