New Ninja in Nagasaki
Hello all!! I live in Nagasaki, Japan (originally, from Denver Colorado) and just picked up my 2011 250R today. I've got a million questions about upgrades with it being fuel injected and all and have found little information on the net. Look forward to talking to you all and hopefully sharing some insights as well.
First impression so far is that the Ninja feels lighter and more nimble than my V-twin 250, even though the specs look very similar on paper. I took it for a 50km test run today up the twisties (I mostly kept it around 4000rpm, but did open it up a little just to see what she could do.) Anyway, before I start rambling... As they say here: yoroshiku! |

Not trying to touch a nerve, but isn't Nagasaki the city that had an atomic bomb dropped on it by Truman? How does the general public view this. Do they just act like it never happened and not talk much of the tyrannical government that existed? Or is there some type of memorial to remember all the innocent ones who were killed?
Now that I am done hi-jacking your thread. Welcome to the board. Post some pics up of your Ninjette! |

DynoJet makes a Power-comander for the EFI models that lets you adjust the fuel map through the computer.
so after modding the air filter and/or the exhaust system this would let you adjust the fuel input step by step for the best performance gain. having a wide-band A/F sensor would help a lot to fine tune the bike

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Wow, never have I been greeted so well in a self introduction post!
Just to answer some of your questions: First of all, I'm an American living here in Japan. (Going on 18 years now.) So basically my own personal feelings on the use of the A-bomb may not reflect those of the local population. clintalmighty: How does the general public view this. Do they just act like it never happened and not talk much of the tyrannical government that existed? Or is there some type of memorial to remember all the innocent ones who were killed? 1. They still regret that it happened but responsible citizens take into accord their own role in the events leading up to it. 2. (Good question!!) They pretty much ignore their former government (especially any role the emperor had in it) and very little is said about it - the current form of government & constitution is SO much different in the amount of control they wield over the people. 3. The Nagasaki Atomic Bomb museum is very well done (but a little one sided, as one should expect) and the Peace park built at the epicenter is a nice place for thought. "A": Any earthquakes lately? How are the general population recovering from the disasters? 1.No quakes here in a couple years. 2.The people effected by the March 11 disaster are getting by as best they can. So many people just lost everything, it really is hard to fathom. The Fukushima nuclear power plant is still spewing radiation into the air and sea. It's a major cluster frack. As for fuel injection, power commanders, and other such delicious fare, I believe it would be better discussed somewhere else, so once I clear some of this work off my desk, I'll start hunting for the appropriate place for questions. Peace! |
