Bear Mtn meet up sat july 14, NY, NJ crews

BM is only the starting point.
From BM I’ll be taking the crew thru about 30 miles of twisties. It’s a good ride for beginners as well as advanced because at all times you’ll have a clear shot back to either BM, 9w, 87 or Pal Interstate and the roads can be ridden fast or slow, each with their own rewards. This is NOT a high speed route and the first maybe 13 miles are thru park type roads, the second part can be ridden considerably faster, or not.
I'm guessing meet at BM top about 10:30 or can pick up NJ guys at Pal interstate a little later.

VERY much want to do this and will if I possibly can, but don't wait around for me.

Give a specific spot to meet, please... don't know BM roads that well.

I'm coming from Connecticut.

ok....DEPENDING ON WHO' SAYS THEY ARE COMING....I;'M THINKING THE INTERSECTION OF PAL INTERSATE AND.106 OR 98 ( DONT KNOW HOW IT'S MARKED) ACTUALLY MAKES MORE SENSE. 106 AND 17A ARE THE BETTER PART OF THE RIDE.
I would change the startup point,,,,,,, lets say 106 and pal Inter @ 10:30 west bound.

I def. want to go, especially with a new guy coming through to meet the gang but I must tell ya I'm out!

I'm going to start my 7500mi service sat morning. Doing it in two seperate sittings too, one sat. morning and 1 sun. morning. Whatever I don't do/have problems doing I will leave for Monday since I will be off work.

We should of had a TECH DAY because I suck at doing these types of things (that includes you guys-> @fizzer914 @urbaninja @kraazy @Rollin..) but nobody has yet to create one!

Ah, bugger.

I cannot commit 100 percent because i need the boss's permission and I won't get it til after midnight.

Eddie, I wouldn't risk a total bust if I were you. Let us know if you're still planning on it and I'll try... but that's all I can promise.

If you'd like to check out Connecticut I can show you a great burger place and some pretty cool country roads...

Steve:

Riding with others beats routine maintenance any day. The bike won't blow up if you have a few more miles on it.

Besides, the first thing you're going to have to do is drain the oil, and it's better if you do that when the bike is hot. So you have to ride Saturday anyway, right?

And Saturday's going to be at least decent weather, while Sunday is going to be pissing rain.

And you get to hear what a sweet AreaP equipped bike sounds like, and feel what clip-ons and rearsets are like (sorry, no rides, but you can sit on my bike).

Plus you get to meet a certified member of the Ninjette Forum Postwhore Club.

(whispering)
ride... ride... ride... ride... ride...

Looking at Google maps, 106 is exit 15 off the PIP. The map also labels it as Gate Hill Rd.

Please confirm if you decide to do this. I don't want to make the trip for no reason.

I'm on a blue 08 with a helmet so bright you can see it from orbit. If I'm not there by 10:45, proceed without me and have a great ride.

OK....so as long as water is not coming from the sky tomorrow on LI at 9:15 I'm off to Gate Hill Road exit on Pal Inter. I have a white bike.
I'll stay there till 10:45 and....if anyone shows up a few minutes late....go west on gate hill/CR 106. It's such a nice ride that I wont be going fast.

Eddie -- to make it there by 10:30 I need to leave by 9… so will post status one way or the other at 8:45 latest. Just check in….

Hope to meet you tomorrow!

BTW, at the moment weather is iffy. 40% chance of precip is my threshold for go/no go (I go at 40 but not above) and right now they're saying 40% chance of drizzle starting early afternoon. We'll see what morning brings.

It's 6:30. Rain rolled through here about 45 minutes ago and soaked everything but I see patches of blue sky. Looks like it hit you too.

Weatherspark.com (awesome site) is saying 40% chance here until 8 am then nothing until 8 pm. For West Nyack NY it shows much the same but even less chance of precip.

I have to go run some errands but will post again prior to 8:45.

Well, Steve, you really missed it. Not only were we eating supersports and cruisers for lunch all day today, we had the opportunity to do the Good Samaritan thing and help out the Girls Gone Wild crew, whose bus had broken down.

Then there was the naked cheerleader benefit carwash. That was pretty cool, too.

The girls were all over Eddie. I think it's the loafers-and-black-socks look.

Chicks dig that.

Sorry but you missed the cheerleaders. Next weekend is the Sexy Senior benefit car wash. Only weathered, leathery bleached blondes with voices shot from smoking allowed, nobody under age 65.

Just Andy Pop and i went. OK.....if you show up when he's around you'll know why he's andy pop now. The ride was as i promised and we got up into CT too as the twisty part just didnt take that long. Oh,,,andy....I ran into this drunk woman at the bryant pond road exit on the way back....this is a PM story..40, blonde, drunk. Fizz woulda went home with her.
OK...so the best part of the ride was riding andys bike...jetted and piped it's easy 10mph faster than mine WOT and we ran a good ....what 10-15 miles...over 90...with my gearing on his bike i got to wonder how fast it would actually go. I was pretty impressed.

Not really drunk but tipsy, not bigboob hot but very pretty. She's a helth aid and gives massages ( no lie). The good thing about being an old man is that people open up to you...like talkin to Santa Claus so I got the life story. Nice woman, really.

BTW, I seriously doubt we were going 90 for real. The speedo on my bike is wildly optimistic. 80-85, maybe. Fast enough, anyway.

After I got home I took a look at my tires. I'm pretty sure the chicken strips are narrower. That's a good thing.

The roads up near BM are pretty rough in places, but wonderfully twisty.

I know where there's some reasonably nice mami's on Route 28 in catskills. In fact...i'm gonna post a catskills ride...I think Fizz will go...can we count on you. BTW.....how many miles did you clock saturday....odo was 202 when we stopped for gas right ?

I started the day with 30-something on the clock. We stopped for gas at about 205. I don't recall what I had on there when I got home, but it was probably another 100. So a good long day, anyway.

In between that and the cheerleaders, i was pretty much worn out.

Can't promise anything about the Catskills. Hard for me to get away for a day lately.
