I've already started to try and figure out what I could sell to make it happen but I still would have to come up with free time and money to take it to the track :/ I guess it would still look good in my living room though.

buy it, that's a sick bike. Personally I'd rather have an I4 cbr250rr/cbr400rr (my dream vintage bike) but you really can't go wrong with that wonderful italian machine.

edit: that yellow R6 will probably get it for you though I'm not sure what other bikes you have lying around to trade/sell.

yeah it's pretty much sex.

after some digging apparently if you have even more disposable income you can send your RS250 to Australia 2stroke shop and have them swap in their custom made to fit 500cc 2stroke engine. I think they sell complete bikes to but for crazy prices not that the engine swap it's self isn't a crazy price. Their website is lacking unfortunately

I'm looking to sell my truck in the next month. If I'm lucky and I get a decent amount for the truck, and rs250 is still sitting around, some calls might be made.

What else can I sell that is actually worth something that I am also willing to part with.... hmm, quite difficult, I get to attached to my toys, I hate selling things.

obviously stickers don't mean anything and by the looks of things this is an RS250 cup bike. BUT! the sticker on the fairing does seem to say RSV250R which I believe is the designation for the GP bike. I'm 99% sure that someone just slapped the sticker on the cup bike body work as it closely resembles the RS250, I believe the GP bike had the exhausts in different places, one under tail hidden and one in normal position but who knows?

If this was a GP bike, that would amazballz

Hoarder...

I don't think I could spend that much on a bike I might only use 3 or 4 times a year.

i already have the ninja for street so a special purpose bike would fit the bill quite nicely. I just would not want to keep up on maintenance of 2 stroke

do you have to keep up on maintenance if it's just sitting?

I was told a car left setting to long is bad due to the seals drying out and other issues like rust eating away at the inside of the engine. No idea if its true or not.

It may be true with older cars but my first car was sitting for a decade before I got it and it was fine once I replaced a few rubber bits here and there. Rust was (surprisingly) not an issue during the time that I had the vehicle.

I am sure it was a bigger deal with older vehicles? Most of the stuff you hear is from back then its just been repeated to each new child.

Yes, it will be dead, Jim. Depending on climate and certain other factors.

can't. 2-strokes aren't street legal.

not exactly true, look into your states emissions laws even then there are loop holes for customs and or classic vehicles.

Most states emissions laws especially regarding motorcycles are next to non existent.

As a former Marylander i ask you to think about when the last time you had your car emissions checked? Now when was the last time you had your bike's emissions checked? And again loop holes for certain vehicles.

You can go to Xtreme Power Sports in MD. panhandle near Deep Creek MD. and drive a street legal 2stroke off their lot today. With current weather conditions I would not recommend it but hey, it could be done.

http://www.xps-usa.com/new_vehicle_d...94&pov=2941555

Pennsylvania has even more lax emissions laws, they only require visual exhaust check lol WTF is that gonna do? hahaha

Again my main problem with owning a street ridden 2stroke is keeping up with maintenance. 4strokes are pretty easy going, oil, check valves on occasion. 2stroke even one designed for the street you are looking at a new piston/ring/hone every 2000 miles or so and oil at least every 1k. Some people might do that in 2 weeks or so over the summer. The work is easy and not super expensive and not overly time consuming but my free time for things like that is very limited currently so the thought of the money and time spent is not all that appealing.

P.S. AWESOMESAUCE!! I just found an oatmeal cookie in my pocket that I had put there this morning before I left for work!!! Totally forgot about it, super excited!!

good point, my sister passed MD emissions while burning oil and puffing blue smoke out the back of her volvo.
