Question Helmet/Visor Compatibility? - Shark Helmets

Hey everybody, new to the forum!

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with Shark helmets and their visors..
I bought a Shark RSF 3 last week at a pretty good deal. Out of curiosity I was trying to look for a tinted (smoked) or mirrored visor.

(Unfortunately I didn't find any mirrored ones for shark at all..I might have seen them for HJC or Scorpion..)

Anyway, I could barely find anything that was made for the RSF 3. Found alot of things that were compatible with different Shark models, but not for mine.

Does anyone know if visors/faceshields from different models (same manufacturer) are compatible/will fit with a different line? Shark in particular?

Thanks for reading,
Kyle

Might want to send a note to the guys at sportbiketrackgear.com. My guess is they aren't compatible across helmet lines since they have different pages for their shields on the site.

Good luck.

I'm not familiar with the RSF3. I think that's their new helmet. In any case, their most popular models, the RSX and RSR2, shared visors but only between those two models. The RSF3 being one of their newer lids (I think it replaces the RSX) uses a completely different latching mechanism....and also uses a thinner visor.

Anyway, as previously mentioned, your best bet is sportbiketrackgear.com. Here's a link:

Edit: yup...it uses a 2.2mm visor vs the RSR2/RSX 3mm visor. Damn shame really....

since we're on the subject, do tinted face shields distract your vision capability at night?

I have the dark tinted visors for my Shark helmet and I can't see a damned thing after the sun goes down haha. Even in the late evening, when the sun is being blocked out by buildings, it gets pretty dicey....so yes, it does distract my vision at night

If I know for sure I will be out late I usually use the clear shield with sunglasses. I don't recommand tinted shields at night.
