Hey y'all. I finished up with the main parts of the conversion. Got this for cheap and it had been laid out so the fairings were damaged and had to be removed anyhow.
New: Headlight, taillight, fender elimation, cut up the fairings a little bit. Before: After: |

Looks much better now!
Next step - new tires. Check the date on the sidewall (4 number in an oval, first 2 are the week of the year, last 2 are the last digits of the year), but those look too old to me. Save yourself a low-side and put on a new set. |

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll take it to my local shop soon to order some new ones. I'm terrible with tires on cars and definitely don't want to mess around and "get my moneys worth" on bike tires lol

Good call.
I always figure every used cycle I buy needs new tires (haven't been wrong yet). Read through this section before you decide, and please, don't buy exact OEM replacements - there are much better tires available. https://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Tires I've trashed brand new OEM tires with less than 500 mi on them because they sucked. It's not worth riding on questionable tires to me. We had Pirelli MT75s and Pirelli Diablo Scooters on out Ninjas with 16" wheels, and the Diablos (cheapest) were better. That said, Pirelli's rubber compound isn't very good and dries/cracks too quickly. |
