My latest drawings

I can't remember who here is an artist. I know I tried to get some people involved in a drawing jam, and that fell flat on its face.

Anyway, here are some of the latest ones. Feel free to let me know what you think. I am always looking for things to improve on. I will say this, I know I have a lot of work still to do. On all of these I can count more things wrong with them than I can count on one hand.

I liked this one:
http://instagr.am/p/M8bMBPDgXb/

Kind of a manga look to her, I like it though (considering I did it in ink)
http://instagr.am/p/M9_j79jgUZ/

Random drawing:
http://instagr.am/p/M-YtS-DgbT/

Supposed to be Emma Watson:

Dude you are getting really good!
Simple and clean.

I was worried there would be no Emma this time, and then I saw the last drawing. :P Has her hair grown back yet? Anyway, maybe her face is a little too wide and her chin too sharp. Though I am not looking at her photo, so it is very possible that I don't remember her looks.

Thanks! Yeah, I kinda went fast on that drawing of her. I didn't expect it to be spot on.

Oh and here is the original image of her:

Like I said, with the amount of time I spent on it, I can see a ton of things wrong with it. One day I'll be able to fly through a drawing and get it almost spot on. I am just not there yet.

i think the emma drawing is spot on. the first one is my fave though it has a softness to it. i think if you added some shade to her face it would give it more depth...i wish i could draw lol :P

Enhance the breasts by 300% and you might be able to get it into a TV anime

I honestly think the eyes are the reason for that. I could shade it, but I'd rather start over with another drawing based on that one. If I like how one drawing turned out, I keep it that way, then use tracing paper or just draw another from it. I use that to get the lines smooth, fix small errors and tweak the image. Sometimes I'll even go into photoshop to make small adjustments. For instance, if I REALLY like a drawing, but slightly moving an eye would just cause chaos for me, I'll scan it, put it in photoshop and do the small tweak there. It is simple, fast and easy. Now if it is a drawing I plan on framing, I'll do the tweak myself, otherwise I just move it to digital and do it there.

As far as wishing you could draw, really it is just practice more than anything. I started out with stick figures just like everyone else. I just quickly didn't like that and started adding actual bodies (if you could call them that) and start giving everything a cartoonish vibe. It has morphed itself into what you see above.

Oh and jiggles, I may draw something just for you...

Just for you Jiggles, a whole 10-min worth of my time.
(It really took longer for me to upload it to photobucket than to draw it. It was really giving me some issues. lol)

Though that pic is awesome I'm still not sure it's big enough for TV

Take for instance this 14yr old girl from the anime Bleach

It should be better, I spent easily 3x the amount of time on that one than the others.

How is this? Really quickly done, that is why they eyes aren't quite right and the drawing isn't very clean.
It also doesn't help that my small travel sketchpad has very course paper...

Idk who/what you are drawing but looks good to me!

I realize that may sound like a backhanded compliment. I can assure you it is not Unless of course you were actually trying to draw the girl from deadman wonderland in which case, uhm... yep, uhm...

Honestly, a lot of drawings I have done lately are loosely based off someone. That one above is based off a image I found of Emma last night that I kept open if I had a chance.

However, tonight was mainly a just draw night, so I would just see what happened as I drew. Some would fail because I had no plan, others would just take shape and come out ok.

Ok, I'm honest with this...this one absolutely sucks. The face is ALL wrong. Still, it is something to go off of. I wasn't trying to be right, just get it done. It shows completely...

Got an image in mind or do you want me to wing it?

If you want me to wing it, post up an image of the version of her you want (like basic outfit, etc).

Pick one (for outfit reference) and also let me know if you want it to kinda (I make no promises) look like her or if you want me to anime it up some and make her more curvy.

Subscribed I love checking out other people's art. You're pretty good! I was never too good at drawing people, I used to draw more mechanical things. Military stuff in particular. These are a couple of the better ones, but they're all super old and messed up lol.

This is a very faded and incomplete M1A1 Abrams I believe? (Last time I touched it was about 3 years ago, I don't remember what it was lol)

Here's a simple B-1B Lancer

And one that I drew way back in middle school and to this day remains my second favorite and only colored picture

My FAVORITE one was of a dragon I drew for an ex girlfriend a ways back. I'll bug her and see if she'll scan me over a copy

Keep up the good work though! Really enjoyed your previous pieces you've posted up!

The tank looks rather cool.

I used to draw cars and bikes to a fault. I mean I would work so hard at them that you'd swear I just scanned a picture and ran it through some filters to make it look like I drew it.

Problem with that, it was my old perfectionist side that would tick me off more than make me appreciate what I accomplished. So I have since started to "loosen" up and accept the flaws in the pieces. Plus, once your "art" takes more of a drafting side, it has gone too far and morphed itself into something else (at least I think so). I don't mind drafting, it is just not what I was after.

As for art, ever see the movie "Cashback"? That is a kinda cool take on an artists perspective. It is a pretty good flick.

Ok, I took a quick stab at Jill during lunch break:

Now remember, this is all on a 5"x5" sketchpad. I can only do so much with something that small. hahaha

Wow, that girl is all torso. LOL I'll have to correct the hips...

Hey Zach, just a suggestion, but next time you draw a fighter pilot sun shield, try to add some reflections to it. It really can give the drawing more depth that way.

I wouldn't try that these days. Those helmets are so involved and require so much detail that it would take a long time for me to tackle it. Kudos to you for giving it a go. I'd have a hard time turning the detail down on something like that.

Worked on this while waiting for a tool to run a routine...

It was with a pen, which I am not that great at using. You have to KNOW where you want a line to go. I had to do some thinking with this one. hahaha
