Samsung Captivate... pretty much hate the damn thing, too bad I'm stuck with it for at least another 14 months or so before I'm eligible for an upgrade.

Love Android though.

I used to be a huge iPhone guy. Tried an Android phone for a few days while waiting on a replacement iPhone, and just stuck with Android. I will not go back to Apple anytime soon.

Samsung Alias 2. So it doesn't quite fit into any of those categories really.

Tracfone

Got a reconditioned Samsung T301G for $19.99, which included 150 days of service (probably left over from the prev owner) and 160 minutes (60min + DM4L + 40 minutes w/code). It's cheaper to get a new (reconditioned) phone and use the old one as an extra alarm clock than buying airtime. If you do it right, running a tracfone less than $4/month.

I don't have much need for a smart phone or the big bill that comes with it so I just have a basic.

Starting a new job at AT&T soon so I'll be able to get an android work phone for free (win) as well as my jailbroken iPhone (double win)

Yeah I was looking at some of team whiskey's roms, but I was more interested in long battery life, back in Dec Eugene's seemed to be the best one. I haven't really tried any other since.

What kind of phone do you have?

I have a go phone with a minutes card in case of emergencies. Never had a cell with contract before. Or feel the need to pay a bill so I can do what I do at home, except when I'm at work or on my bike: let it go to voice mail.

That is the same thing I do. I refuse to be a slave to my phone. I see too many people stop in the middle of a conversation because their phone buzzed them with an email, facebook. tweeter or other type alert that has to be attended to right then and there. I look at them like helllooo I'm still here!

Had an Iphone for 2 years. Just recently bought an Android phone, the HTC Incredible 2. LOVE LOVE it! I prefer it over the Iphone personally. JMHO

LOL! I do understand this, Rick. To make up for it, we don't have a land line. We also get to use our cell phone to tether internet, so there's another bill we don't have.

Tethering and wifi hotspot is a nice feature you can usually get for free especially if the phone is rooted. And if you have a newer more powerful phone it will power a laptop pretty fast with no lag really.

This is exactly what I do. I get around 6-9Mbps through my iphone with a latency of 150ms. Comparable internet service costs $40+/mo

Samsung Galaxy S. I used to be a huge fan of the Apple stuff (still have my OS X desktop/laptop), but phone wise this thing seems so much better.

Also started doing some development on it. Install/test apps over USB or Gmail vs. pay Apple $100? Tough choice
