@nickjpass oohhhh gotcha sorry mate. that woulda been awesome. I had a buddy who had a pair of 50 cc bikes and between that and bicycles I'm still hooked on 2-wheeled vehicles

@racegunnr kudos on that. I'm still jealous. Is the 250 race bike in hopes of going pro or just a track toy? I mean he started early enough that it's a definite possibility. I really wish my parents got me started when I was young so that I at least had the possibility of racing. Now that I'm old enough to own my bike and I'm finally into motorcycles, I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too old to just be starting into racing stuff. If I do track riding it will just be for the pleasure and learning experience of riding on the track.

I need to be rewarded for stuff, so I don't think riding on the track would do it for me lol

Its nice to dream about your kids doing something and be famous, this is his desire to race, i havent influenced him one way or the other.he knows if this is what he wants to be, alot of commitment and sacrifice goes along with it.

big background in all motorsports in my family, from dirtbikes to oval dirt racing, kart racing, and sportbikes, even ice racing. when drew was little we drug him to all of them and got him started for fun early is his years. he is EXTREMELY competitive and has given %150 in everything he does. it was hard to teach him winning isnt everything, but to have fun doing it. when its not fun anymore its time to quit.

the bike racing is something he has really taken to quickly and takes it very seriously, for being only 14 he is very perceptive and shows that desire and willing-ness to learn and do it right,

so, as far as him going pro? we will see. education comes first, 3.50 grade so far, so thats not an issue yet.

maybe redbull rookie, maybe club racer or just a good ole track day addict!

P.S
closer to finished (i see i need to repaint tank to match lines on the black....dammit!)

Being super competitive can seem bad in some peoples eyes, only because they're jealous they can't be. Ask me how I know...

bike looks great. sorry about the tank!

Sounds like you guys have done all that you can to get him on the right track (no pun intended...) with this. I can't believe how many people sacrifice their education just to get a chance to go pro in sports (LeBron, Kobe, Freddie Adu, etc).
