It means we probably won't be able to get to the parking lot at the observatory if we're there before noon. That's where all of those kick-ass pictures from these rides are often taken. But other than that, no; we'll just continue straight on to the Junction 20 miles past Mt. Ham.

When it really comes down to it, I like the way it sounds and performs with it. That's what matters to me. I'm respectful as can be with the noise it emits. None of this open header slashed pipes ****.

I understand that very well. I have a modded car with aftermarket exhaust which...definitely does not comply with CA emissions lol. But it has a very clean sound to it and I try to be as respectful as i can in neighborhoods and at night when people are sleeping.

Here's what I've been told, red 250, going too fast, low sided and collided into a tree. Blood everywhere.
My friend got it on cam, and he believes rider also had a go pro recording.
It wasn't a random rider, he was part of this group ride.

The person who died is @CycleCam303
Did the group not stay as a group? With a leader + sweeper?
I'm a little surprised as to how you, as the organizer, didn't know about the accident.

We all stopped 10 miles up from the starbucks. Idk how far up the crash occurred.

Alex and another rider went back, but were not allowed to see what was going on because of the police. Everyone else went onwards besides me. My bike wouldn't start. About an hour and a half later, I tried to go back home, the same path the crash occurred, and was immediately turned around by police. This is why we had no idea of what was going on. I tired contacting a few other riders, but the cell service was non existent, and everyone as riding, so nobody answered my calls.

The group was effectively split up by police.

True, but then again, he could've gotten his plates right before the ride.
My assumption still sits with him being the only red 250 who confirmed that they're going.

If anything, have the other riders check in to deduce by process of elimination who it could be.

Edit // It seems barf is also trying to identify the rider.

No, it wasn't Cameron. It was another rider on a different red ninja 250 named Tim. I believe his username is @twong85.

It was a small group going a short distance on a road that is impossible to get lost on. We planned to regroup a number of times, and it was at the first regroup point only a few miles in when we realized we were missing several bikes. We went back to find the rest of the group, and as I arrived at the scene, the sheriff had already blocked the road and was not letting me (or anyone else) by to make contact with any of the riders that were either involved or nearby. I had told one of the other riders to let the main group know that I would then catch up either at the top of Mt. Ham, or the Junction, and that's what ended up happening. I came back upon Rick & Jason, who were diagnosing Rick's bike which would now not start at that regroup point.

Tragic day, and I'm terribly sorry for anyone who knew Tim.

It was still closed off around 2pm. The Honda and Moto Guzzi stayed there until the ambulance came.

Let me guys know if you need anything.

It was me. went down twice..first one wasn't that bad. wheels slide out as i was trying to slow down for a left and i dropped the bike into a pile of dirt with rocks in it. but it festered into my mind and on the very first left after our break at junction, i froze up and panicked and crashed into a ditch. luckily people we behind me and calmed me down and gave me some advice.

Right fairing is all scratched up, found two small cracks. and right handlebar is very slightly bent.

But that all is nothing in comparison to the earlier tragedy.

Here was the group at the top of Mt. Hamilton:

At this point we knew that there was an accident that could have been serious, but were unaware of the specifics with the road being blocked off. The rest of my pictures are up in this gallery. Perhaps there are more pictures of the ride start, that captured Tim and the other riders who started, but sadly didn't complete the ride today.
