Any one else here like the Kat?

I know folks are polarized about the Katana. Some think it is overstuffed pig, others like it as a good all-rounder. Opinions anyone?

I think the bike looks pretty good in black. Albeit a bit customized.

Yes I like Kit Kats too, no I don't like bloated bike design style.

My fav. KTM RC8 angles and edges so sharp, you'll cut yourself.
Same goes for the Trumpet 675.

that particular kat has a lot of aftermarket work dont to it just to make it look acceptable (rear cowl, fairing screens). Most people hate the banana seat on the back, currently covered up by a $100 piece of black plastic. and as far a performance, why get a katana 750 when any 600 will be faster lighter and better?

Yah, I'm one of the few that like the Katanas looks. I personally don't like the newer style of bikes with all the sharp edges. Now the bikes are looking more and more like one another with sharp edge after sharp edge. I like smoother more rounded curves, it's just sexier. I'm also not interested in top end performance as long as it does what I need it to do. The only thing I'm not crazy about them is that they are air/oil cooled. In the hotter areas (like FL) that can become a little problematic. That type of bike needs to keep moving at a decent speed to stay cool. Get stuck in traffic in the heat, and you might as well just shut it off and walk the bike.

Because the model is GSXF600 and GFXF750. They gave them the name of Katana. Just like the ninja was a GPZ250 at one time, it's even on some of the older keys.

The Katana was replaced by the GSXF650 recently which is basically a Bandit with a new skin on it.

I'm not a fan of the Katana's. They're huge and really remind me of Hyabusa's (which I really don't like).

From what I hear they are pretty bulletproof.

Check out this epic adventure On a Katana from Colorado to Columbia that includes just about everything - landslides, running from the cops, sailboats, and a marriage!

I don't mind the roundness on the outer edges of the fairings, but the round vents make it look like a children's toy, especially when there's no mesh there.

I've always loved the 82 Katanas. I've had two of them. They got me into racing.

I think they are so sexy.

Back in the day the local dealer (closed years ago) won the Samurai award for Katana sales. The award was a sword on the wall. or was it shogun award??

A brilliant bike! I almost had one for my first bike. Mechanically it's bulletproof and just kinda keeps running. Not the best looking/fastest/best handling out there, but who really needs or can utilize "the best" on the street? I think it's a great buy for anything you're willing to try on the street....

I have seen a couple Katanas an Busas set up as sport touring bikes. They were quite impressive.

A Busa is a GSXR. (GSX-R1300)

On-topic, I don't really care for the Katana. It's one of the bikes I considered after selling my 650R. I took it on the road and it felt like a huge downgrade. Looks, performance, handling. I felt way less safe on the Katana. I hate it, but that's just me.

Incorrect, the Busa is not a GSXR. It is a GSX-1300R which allows it some sort of discount on insurance through a loophole of being a sport-tourer or something instead of a super sport.
