Sad to see the mans race bike go, but I understand that he probably needs the finances right now. Either way I hope Jon gets fully recovered soon.

Updates are posted by him Mom almost everyday on his face book. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=125644144678

log in and check it out!

todays:
Lori Broom: Had another great day with Jon. His memory has gotten better the last few days, yeah! I am going home for a week and David will be up here. David's pastor suggested this, I wouldn't be comfortable with Jon by himself so Davids coming here. Maybe I'll get some much needed rest. We'll all be in the same house as soon... as Jon is better and discharged, hopefully after his knee surgery. Our goal is the 1st of the year!!!

Sorry so late but been in recovery with Jon since 1:00. Surgery went very well and so did Jon but his heart rate is elevated so they are keeping him in recovery over night. Blood pressure and all was good but having to give him iv meds to keep heart rate down. He looks good, hurts, but is doing good. Will know more tomorrow!

Glad to hear the good result. Hospitals do great things but they're not always the easiest place to be. Take care and we're thinking of you all.

Lori Broom: Went to the surgeon yesterday and Jon will have another skin graph on the left knee this time next Thurs. Hopefully this will be the last surgery for awhile! It's a day surgery so no hospital stay. He seems to be doing good today, tired but calmer. In and out of the hospital for weeks has set him back some but he'll be ok. 2/16/11

Latest update from Jon and Lori's FB page

Lori Broom
Jon is doing pretty good. He had the surgery on his left arm Monday. Has a lot of swelling and blisters but it's getting better. Looks good to see his left arm down, it's been curled up on his shoulder for so long. They will re-cast weekly to bring it farther down and stretch the muscles and stuff in there. Painful but is handling it pretty good

notes from an anonymous angel

From Jon's Mothers FB Lori Broom:

I feel the need to be a little clearer on Jon's homecoming. He still has a very long way to go but we have decided his cognitive and physical recoveries will be more efficient at home. Just being home! He will be having all the therapies he has now and more. Now that the surgeries are done it's time. He is doing much better the last 2-3 weeks and we are so blessed to be making this move.

RECENT Previous posts:
Having a great day again. Jon has been very much in the moment and talking to everyone. So glad to see this. Maybe with the pain subsiding he can concentrate on his therapies more. I can see a big difference in him...

Jon is doing great. re-casted his arm again today and it's at a 70 degree angle. We're hoping to get 60 degrees or less! Still painful and blisters but swelling has gone down. Watched races this weekend on Speed, he loved it!
