If my wife says yes.....

...the 250 will be gone.

In its place would stand either a 2006 CBR600F4i, a 2007 Yamaha YZF600, or a 2007 Suzuki SV1000.

I think the zook is the most comfortable bike as far as positioning goes, but the other two aren't bad either. I also tend to fancy twins too. It all depends on what she says.

All the married folks know it isn't good to tick off your SO.

Dood, I think you might need to set things right and do what REAL men do in these situations!

I find that jewelery works pretty well. I prefer ear rings because there's no worries about sizing.

Funny.. I was thinkin of almost the same choices..

Love the F4i.. the YZF is a great bike, but there really isnt any advantage to a 2007 vs a 200 since its the sme bike.. so unles tyou can get a great deal on a newer one, you could save some coin on an older one.. they are heavy though.. I'm pretty much set on the SV650S and then I'll put the full fairing on it.. unless I get a crazy deal on an F4i..

Nope, she buys her shoes on the clearance rack, spending at most $20.

lol I've owned Suzuki before, had good luck with them. Twins sound sweet too. Plus I could say I had a full liter.

The CBR is blue, it looks awesome.

I saw a silver SV1000 on Craigslist locally.... Man that is truly an "eye of the beholder" bike.

In my opinion all of the Suzuki bikes have recently been hit more than once with the ugly stick, they all used to be so attractive. And it is certainly not a case of form following function.

I'm so shallow and superficial. Some pics would really help me make up my mind. Oh yeah... then some pics of the bikes, after that.

have a great time with your decision.

sounds like me, seriously though...who pays retail? in your case, for the non-materialistic woman, i'd advise to go for the stomach.

the hottest thing a guy could do for me would be to bake some cute little cupcakes...with rainbow sprinkles and motorcycle figurines on top.

Not sure if you can add it to this thread but you might want to add a poll to see which one comes out on top.

Ummm... Does it really matter what any of us think? We aren't buying the beast, so unless any of us have ridden and owned one of the choices for a while our opinions are really without merit.

Well, sorta.... sometimes she does when I am very clear, well.... she does surprise me too sometime

In all seriousness... although my original comment was purely in jest, I actually don't believe a husband (or wife for that manner) should be afraid of the other.... That wouldn't be much of a relationship. So, while I do agree that a major decision should be agreed upon, or at least agree to disagree, fear has no place in the equation. I probably didn't need to say that... I hope, but since people do like to joke about it so much, it sometimes makes me wonder who isn't joking...

I would not buy the f4i even though I own one. Seat is uncomfortable gets about 36 mpg and there are no real aftermarket support for it. The 600rr and 1000rr supposedly gets better gas mileage than the f4i. If you want something that gets better gas mileage then get something else besides the f4i. I would be content if the f4i got 44 mpg.

sv1000. I would talk you out of unless you know how to ride and can afford the tire wear on these bikes.

An SV650s with ABS would be a better choice. gets about 50 mpg and seating position is more sportier than a 250 and has about 50 hp. V-twin engine and lots of torque. Aftermarket support is there too.

2007 Yamaha YZF600 - no real opinion. do some research? on MPG, aftermarket support, reliability, ease to work on (usually means less cost to do work at a shop), Comfort on seat, etc

quick comparison on the link below

The YZF600R is a great bike.. everything I read and from what I hear from a buddy that has one.. very comfortable.. its not an R6 but it is still an I4 with plenty of power.. it is heavy though and the design is dated... but its still a great bike.

No fear here. I purchased the 250 earlier this year and just brought it home. She was highly upset but no biggy now. Something cheaper like the 250 and it was no big deal, but spending $6K for a bike, that is too much money to just go out and buy something without discussing it first.

We discussed it, no bike for me. Boooo. We did just discover a few things that need to be done to the house, so the money will go there. My time will come.

That is my outlook on it.

Besides, a 250 isn't a bad ride. I still have my fun.

I may just talk to her about picking up a project bike. A 90's model 600+, restore it, and enjoy running it around town for less than a newer bike would cost. It is always nice to see an older model running around. Not to mention they are not as desirable when next to a newer bike.

Hell yeah for the 250! most don't know the feeling of going wot in a turn and out of a turn and the 250 is very forgiving.

I wouldn't do a 90's bike. I'd look for a really good deal on a used newer bike. Its out there but on craigslist they only last maybe 15 mins on there before someone picks it up. There was an f4i on sale with 40k miles for 1600. so YMMV

I do suggest that if someone disrespects their spouse (or Dave's mom), by going around their back to by a motorcycle, they soften the blow by over insuring their life. Also consider that you are statistically more likely to be disabled, rather than killed, and that insurance aint cheap....
