Front Brake : went limp (zero resistance)
I completed the rear brake fluid flush without any incident.
But, I goofed with the Front Brake bleeding. Made a mistake and got air in there. Now, no matter how much I pumped and bleed, although there are still fluid being bled, the brake lever has zero resistance. I don't see any bubbles coming out in the bleeding tube nor do I see any bubbles rising out in the Master cylinder. Any thoughts on how I can solve this? I have tied the Brake Lever to see if that helps by tomorrow. |

You're fighting gravity because the bubbles are rising faster in the line than you can pump them down. Trick is to remove caliper and hold it above the master cylinder so that bubbles go only one-way in direction you want, master -->> caliper. Probably need an assistant for this.
Also rotate your bars so master-cylinder reservoir is as level as possible. Keep it filled to very top and don't squeeze more than 3x before refilling. One thing that really helps is replacing bleeder-screw with Speed Bleeders. Then unscrew Speed Bleeder and attach hose going down to bucket and forget about it. Hold bottle of new fluid in one hand and continually pour to refill reservoir while you repeatedly squeeze lever with other hand. Takes less than 3-minutes from beginning to end to flush new fluid through. |

Since I was planning to replace the brake hose with the new Galfer Stainless ones, I thought this is a perfect time to do so.
Old hose was removed. The Galfer one is in place, loosely bolted on both ends. Master Cylinder is completely empty. Caliper is attached to the new Galfer line. Brake pads are also out. I wonder what is the correct and least problematic way to refill from scratch. Last futzed with by arthury; July 12th, 2020 at 10:10 PM. |

Fixed: using the dirty method
Dirty Method:
I repeated this above steps 3-4 times and each time I re-gain more and more resistance at the Lever until it became normal. Now, I just need to re-install the caliper and pads back properly. PS: Along the way, after many Lever pulling, the Brake Light Switch got "healed". Weird. When The new one arrives, I'll replace it. Last futzed with by arthury; July 13th, 2020 at 07:00 AM. |

Hhahhahaha!!! Was probably corrosion on contacts in brake-lever switch. All that squeezing probably rubbed off corrosion and it worked again!
Good job on clearing out bubbles! Yeah, that's awfully messy. Hopefully brake-fluid didn't get into any critical areas. Only thing I'd worry about is fork-seals. |
