Aftermarket LED tail light -- brake light not working
Hello!
I replaced the tail light on my street fighter ninja, and while I'm pretty sure it's wired up correctly, it's not functioning properly. Tail light is always on, and brake light doesn't activate when i depress either lever. Everything was working as it should before the swap. Was searching around and saw some info on a load balancer/ resister, but I was under the impression that this was only necessary for LED turn signals, not an LED brake light. I'd add that since I have no reference point, it's also possible that the brake light is always on -- there's just no noticeable change when activating the brakes. Help please |

I would expect the unit to have three connections:
1. input to tail light 2. input to brake light 3. ground Assuming your ground connection is good, then applying 12v to each of the other two should light up that LED or group of LEDs. You shouldn't need any other external components to make that work. A bad ground connection could make odd things happen, but I'm not sure that's your problem, or your only problem. |

OK, so the brake light was on all the time, and adding the tail light didn't make a noticeable difference, I guess.
