TORRENTIAL rain at Valencia on Tuesday hindered the chance of MotoGP teams continuing their testing programmes despite eleven riders braving the conditions.

Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa and Movistar Yamaha MotoGP's Jorge Lorenzo decided not to take the risk along with Monster Yamaha Tech 3's Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith.

It was Italian rider Danilo Petrucci who headed out with his new team Pramac Racing to top the time-sheets for the day with a lap time of 1:42.431.

Already partially behind schedule, Nicky Hayden did not ride his Drive M7 Aspar RC213V-RS Open bike on Monday and therefore braved the conditions to finish 24 laps putting him second. Hayden's new team-mate Eugene Laverty also took advantage of the track time and time on the bike despite the poor weather.

Valentino Rossi only completed eight laps whilst World Champion Marc Marquez completed 16 laps albeit not to his usual times.

Marc VDS rider Scott Redding put in 42 laps in the wet on-board the RC213V factory Honda spec bike. However, Cal Crutchlow went out on his CWM LCR Honda but crashed before completing a lap and decided that was enough for one day.

Crutchlow wasn't the only crasher of the day. Redding crashed near the end of the day as well of Petrucci, and Loris Baz all of whom escaped without injury.

Team-mates Alvaro Bautista and Marco Melandri decided to join the others on the wet track with Bautista completing the highest number of laps all day with 49.
