Greek rider of a modified Fuel Injected 250

hello everyone... it's been ages since I left the States permanently and still regret it...however I stay in touch with friends and relatives in California...

I own a ZX-12R whih had been heavily modified for drag racing which now has come to a "lighter" version of the original beast I had created and use it for touring with my wife (don't say I'm getting old, still doing over 200mph on the gps from time to time)
I am not a mechanic but most of the mods are being made by myself since I've gained a lot of experience from racing and participating in 'engine surgeries"...I design most of the parts I order (pistons, cam profiles etc) and I like using parts not "off the shelf" but custom-made or even matching from other bikes...

as far as my 250 is concerned, I own the fastest one in Europe with some engine modifications and Ecu flashing but I haven't oversized the engine yet (which I am about to do) and I would like to share my knowledge with you on that field... I am aware of the tech specs of the new 300 and I am disappointed (same head, lower compression by flatter pistons, overstroked for torque but lower rev limit...)

I will give you an idea of what I have in mind and want all of your opinions on my project... forgive me if I make mstakes on technical terms (please corrct me every time) or misuse the language but I haven't practiced my english in ages...

now here is a video of my little R...

Link to original page on YouTube.

hope you like it, ask anything you want to know...

I have set my rev limiter to 14080 rpm (14900rpm on tacho), I use Bridgestone BT-003rs 140/70 rear tyre and 13/43 final drive...

0-60 is a bit under 7"... I weigh 200lbs...

13/43 is essentially the same as 14/45 isn't it?

Did you do any exhaust/intake mods or just dick around with the ECU.

My ninjette at stock was doing 0-60 in 7.9 seconds, I'm also 200 lbs. I just stuck on a new race exhaust, intake and rejet the carbs, my 0-60 should be in the low 6's now

47/13 is 3.615
47/14 is 3.357
43/13 is 3.307
45/14 is 3.214

interesting gearing choice. I was running 14/47 for a while. It was fun, but it kept me pretty busy in turns, so I switched to 15/45. How is 13/43 working out for you?

good for you !! I have done 6.5 on a drag race but I don't do that often 'cause the clutch dies sooner... top speed is 110mph on a straight and the bike is set for track...no lowering links and stuff...

about the same, 13/43 is a bit more for acceleration but the bt-003rs has a huge circumference (as much as 2 teeth lengthening from the rear) and european models have a 14/43 setting from the factory, so I am now set at about as if I had one tooth shorter (bigger) at rear...

exhaust is american yoshi version for header pipes and hand made muffler, airbox modified, ramair I made myself, removed second butterflies, different intake cam profile and timing, intake porting, cr 12,8:1 etc...

preparing overbore version with 2000 ZX-6r oem pistons (66mm) for now and the final step will be a "transfusion" of the new 300 crank with the 49mm stroke whih will give a 335cc engine (282cc on a stock crank...)and the new, bigger 32mm throttle bodies...

oh, I forgot... pc V and autotune with onboard real time settings for fuel and many mods on suspension and brakes...advance curve is different (about +3, +4 degrees) set from the flashed ecu and set on the dyno...

like I said above, I don't set off at 6or 9k rpm...if I did, it would be about 6.5"...
and time is for 0-100kph (0-62mph...) numbers have little importance... the feel is totally different on the road and most importantly for me, on track...besides I am too heavy for that bike... a 150lbs rider on a stock bike is just a wheel behind up to 60mph...

well if you really are that light, you probably do that time for 60mph even on a stock bike !!!
