My Oggy Nobs finally came, so I stripped it down and installed them. Took me about 3 hours (First time removing the fairings, and I chose not to remove the gas tank), but they were overall super easy to install, instructions were clear, and I like how sturdy they look / feel.

Not to mention, my baby is a bit safer now. ^_^

Starter on the truck crapped out yesterday will be back on the moto again.
New battery hasn't came in yet and the coldish weather is making it hard to push start it. Feels weird with my self-made shorty clutch lever and no mirror from the accidents.
I need to order new turn signals and a mirror.
I also need to install this...

It doesn't do any good collecting dust.

Today's move:

Installed a power commander.

Total give a mouse a cookie syndrome. I wanted to run full track fairings, but was slightly concerned about heat from the stock cat. Then, I saw a great deal on a full exhaust. so I bought it. Then because I had the full exhaust, I started looking at power commanders on ebay and got a used one at a good price.

I swear this is the last piece of kit for a long, long time.

Finished up the control mounts on the clip ons, figured the cafe headlight mount, started it after a year of slumber.

Put a few miles on her, and lubed the chain. Back to the canyon we did last week, though a shorter trip. It was windy so I stuck to a place I knew rather than add too many variables all at once. So now I've been introduced to riding in wind - gusty, probably 20-30mph. It's Santa Ana season again, which can be challenging. It's actually still blowing this morning, and did it all night.

I hate riding when it's super windy!

Unless the wind is behind pushing me! Always try and get a new top speed record!

Today I got some back to black, and hit the side plastic/main seat/passenger seat with it. Little chilly today, debating rather to go outside and hit around the cluster with it aswell. Shiny Shiny

You know, it wasn't actually that bad. A little gusty now and then, and some variability depending on whether something blocked the wind or not, but it's good for me to get some experience gauging things.

Stripped it down to the frame after work. Getting ready to install SS brake lines, flush the coolant (switching to Engine Ice), and swap some of the bolts to decorative bolts.

It's on the pricey side. You're looking at $350 + shipping. I got mine largely discounted during the holiday. www.impaktechusa.com

Xtreembikeeworks.com builds one slightly cheaper.

Took a trip around the block to find out if the winter installations were functional, and remembered why my street bike does not have a loud after-market exhaust. Also ordered new tires Friday, which will apparently arrive on Monday (shipped free!). Revzilla ftw I guess.

Fired up yesterday my ZZR250 after winter upgrades.

1. Fitted CoP's
2. Fitted KR1-S swingarm, with home made dogbones & the 250R Ohlins shock I already had
3. Fitted VTR250 rear wheel (5 spoke 17" to match KR1-S front wheel)
4. Rebuilt the already fitted KR1-S forks with combination of VTR1000 cartridges & VFR800 internal valves, with VTR1000 upper fork legs & VFR800 springs. Gives me cartridge forks with preload & rebound adjustment
5. Fitted oil cooler, still some work here, has a small leak
6. Fitted tri-colour LED battery/charge condition monitor.
7. Relocated coolant expansion bottle
8. Fitted LiFe lightweight battery

I'll move the battery to left side of engine later so I can rip out & replace the airbox with a much bigger replacement one ! Will do when I do the 282cc BIG bore.

What did i do for my Ninja today?
I Joined Ninjette
Mounted my new custommade shorty exhaust (made from an original)
Mounted Philips Extreme vision 130+ light bulbs (extremely bright for an halogen bulb)
adjusted the clutch cable, so now pulling in the clutch lever, fits my hand perfectly.
put on a CTEK charger, so the battery has full power when the season starts in marts

Whats up next?
Hmm looking at getting GP style shift

Removed plastics
Started cleaning every inch of the bike
Started checking every bolt for torque spec/tightness
Lubed cables
Finally cleaned the white wheels that were starting to turn gray from grime

Today was a fun day!

seen a lot out yesterday, packed the bike up and brought it back to NY. Unfortunately, most of the street bikes I saw were driven by idiots, one passed me using the center turn lane, no pass zone. Already starting the season off wrong.

Went for a nice little ride yesterday on the Ninjette, worked a bit on the XR in the evening. Life has been really busy so turning wrenches for an hour or so was nice break.

Finished the reassembly of my forks with cartridge emulators installed. Custom mixed 15w oil using Redline Medium and heavy fork oils.

Ordered a good 520 non-o ring chain after going through way too much hassle trying to put together a 428 chain setup.
