I bought a used Dainese and I never saw a garment made as precisely. Every stiitch is tight, even, in a straight line or perfect curve. I had high end scuba gear and even they were not as well done.

Im impressed by Dianese. Im thinking maybe getting leather next year...or this fall.
I just picked up this...love the style so much I got it even though its custom CBR. Thought about unstitching the Honda and CBR patches and taking them off. But I don't know. Any thoughts? |

i'm on my second dainese suit and still using my dainese street jacket. not many people make leathers like dainese. they are cut very stylishly but very comfortably. they do their job extremely well and take a beating. very repairable. good breathing. plus it says dainese on it. very well made leathers. i can't name a brand that beats dainese. unless you go custom made

I only own one jacket and that is Rev'it Ignition 2. I am bias in that I love Rev'it and Dainese out of all the brands due to their styling and overall thought out construction. They also have a little more Euro svelte look, which fits my body perfectly. I do not own any Dainese jackets yet, just boots and I love those. A*s may come in after those two. As far as other brands, I am not fond of the styling (flowery, pink stuff) or I think it's cheap shiit (not protective enough) or both.

Jackets? First place Rev'It, Second place Dainese. The RevIt gear is a bit more functional, Dainese is a bit higher quality and more fashionable.

I like my Alpinestars GP Plus Leather Jacket. Mainly because I got it for a killer deal $250 new! I'll see how I like it whenever I crash. As of now I can't truly say I love it since I don't even know how well it will work. Probably a hell of a lot better than my crappy Bilt jacket I bought when I first started riding. Threads on that jacket are coming undone and the cheap ass leather is falling apart. I'll stick to either alpinestars or dainese, because I feel I get my money's worth with them. My Dainese boots have been through a lot yet they are still looking and working great!

I enjoy my Cortech GX-2 textile sport jacket. It has zippered vents for summer, and a liner for winter. It also has all the usual armor, and isn't too expensive.

I have one of the higher price point Joe Rocket jackets and so far, so good. Pretty comfy and lots of options to seal out the wind or let it in. Trim little shape for my petite body, too.
Only went down with it once (ran off the road into a ditch) and she held up great, but dirt/grass and pavement are two different worlds. Hopefully she never sees the day I meet pavement. |

Love my Shift jacket, going on my 4th season now and its still fine. Also survived my lowside great. Barely noticable marks on the elbow and shoulder, small hole from where the tire pressure gauge was in my front pocket while i superman'd down the street.

I have a Dainese mesh jacket for hot weather. I find it looks great and functions very well - but this brand is quite pricey to buy in the store though.
I have a nice-looking Teknic jacket. Nice quality leather and armour. I'm sure it would do well in a spill, but find that the fit around the shoulders is a bit off: the right shoulder seems a lot tighter than the left. Also some of the minor stitching around the collar has torn after only a couple of thousand miles - not something I would expect from a $400+ jacket. I will not be buying this brand again.

What I really need is a jacket I can wear most of 3 seasons (Down to 55 degrees staying warm enough). And one that looks good and can be worn around somewhat regularly as a jacket (telling people I own a bike without the "Captain America just walked into Wal-Mart" look.
And I'm willing to pay for leather. Last futzed with by justinocean; April 6th, 2014 at 02:10 PM. Reason: Grammar correction |

I do like that the increasing gas prices don't affect me as heavily, while I may be getting a truck in the fall that'll only get 20mpg for now my bike saves me a lot of pain at the pump. I do miss sub $10 fill ups though.
