Yeah, me and her sat down and did all the wrench time, we got bored, and she loves the look of some of streched bikes and really wanted it. Surprisingly it actually handles a LOT better then it did stock. Its much more stable in wind and doesn't get pushed around the road so much with passing traffic. It turns almost identical to when it was stock too, I'm pretty impressed with it. She did the break cable modification for it to work, and bled the brakes, basically just turned the fitting 180* and get an extra few inches from the stock line. Saved us a few dollars over newer brake lines. But the strech mod was only like 350 bucks total, the extensions were like 230.00 and the new chain was like 140

Yeah if anyone has any questions about it, I don't mind answering. I just have a terrible memory where I sourced most of these parts since it was usually like 1 time orders online.

Thanks man,

I've never been a fan of stock anything and its something my girl was looking at when we talked about modifying her bike, she started looking at pictures of bikes online, and just kept the conversation going back to the longer looking back end and extended swing arms and lowering it for her. Originally I was going to fabricate something for it because I couldn't find anyone who made anything, then I found these online.

As I said though, it handles better than it did stock. No knock in the wind and getting blown around on the highway, and it turns on a dime just like it did before.

Anyone that naysays it well...Cool for you. Don't knock it because you can't afford/don't want to try it. And lets be honest, my girl is a new rider and chances are she's not going to be dragging knee, racing track anytime soon on it, so I doubt she'll need that .01 on her time to win. So overall, if you hate it...to you I say... and go work on your own bike cool cat. Other than that, thanks for the peeks and the thumbs up.

yeah they are pretty nice, almost wish her and I waited a year to buy it, but we bought the 2012 right when it came out so we had no idea a 300 was in talks. Probably would of done all this to the 300 if it was the model available when we purchased it for her

Best of luck in your modding ventures man.

haha, I need to start taking stuff for my memory, I feel like an old man and I'm only 26, never did drugs in my life, but the army messed me up pretty good haha, too many explosions in Afghanistan, I even have a hard time with balance...but I think that has more to do with my drinking

Yup, and as all of us with girls know...its now about what we like. I'm trading in my 950 for a Harley switchback and to do so I had to find a bike she liked to sit on first hahahaha

P.S. -

I still have all the photos for a build thread.

Ridings my life, I'm part of the Green Knights MMC here in Alaska. All my spare time goes into my bikes

Well thanks for your service man. I have a similar thing going with my old lady. She wants me to get another HD but I want her to get a bike of her own. Step one of my plan is complete, she has her learners permit.

I think that is the first stretched 250 I've ever seen/heard of. I'm shocked that you feel that it improves the handling as I would imagine it having the opposite effect.

nice pic csmith, switch sport bikes with motorcycles and you've got it dead on though I don't see myself ever riding a cruiser.

Honestly, I have only ever found 2 others streched in all my searching. One dude on youtube and one dude on the kawi forums.

and honest to god man, we all know the 250 can be dicey in wind on the highway, but this thing is now a rock, it doesn't get blown around and it handles the same in a turn. I wouldn't go back now that its like this
