tire mounting

Called my local mom and pop bike dealer and they said if I just bring the bike in it is 50 dollars to mount up both tires. that seem fair? Never paid to have tires mounted on a bike so I dont know, they do tend to have higher prices on a few things so just checing.

Sounds fair to me. My dude charges $20 per wheel if you bring him all the pieces. $40 per if it is mounted. Shop rate if he has to disassemble half of the bike to change them (think Goldwing).

You sure that wasn't the loose-mount "just bring the wheels" price? I've gotten $20 per for loose mounting. $50 for dismount, change, and remount of both tires is pretty good.

yea first i just asked how much to have them mounted and he said 25 per wheel. I asked if I should take the wheels off and he said you could and it would be cheaper but more of a hassle to take both wheels off at once. and it would be since i only have a rear stand haha. So looks like 50 bucks to mount both for just riding my bike down there isnt to bad at all.

My local shop wants $80 to change a rear on the bike and $50 to change the front, makes no difference if I buy the tire from them or not.

My mechanic charges $40 for changing the tires on the bike for each wheel, $20 for just the wheels. He usually gives me a discount on the tires if I buy from him. Dealership does free tire changes if you buy tires from them, but they upcharge the tires quite a bit.
