I want.. to see.. the white light.... (White Bike with LED? Can I see?)
Hey there all. So I kind of been over the Modbug till recently, and am looking for some new ideas. I see a lot of LED threads and was wondering if any 2011 white SE owners have LED's and could post a shot. I'm not sure if I want to rock red, which would look good, or white, which Im sure would be just as good, and probably less police prone.
So, if you have a white bike, mind posting some pictures with the LED's on? :-) I've seen a couple, but for some reason no one likes taking a direct side shot. -_- Thanks! And if you feel like moving this alex, go ahead. I couldnt decide here or farkles.

and @jdoucet93 I saw that too, but it's still pretty close. I'd like to see something at a little distance with just a flat side shot, if possible lol. red does look pretty good though. I'm leaning towards it.

If you get one of the kits from ledglow.com, it might cost you a little more. But the only "wiring" you have to do is hooking the power leads to the battery. Everything else is plug and play. The hardest part for me was trying to figure out where to put all the strips.

I was looking at those kits from LEDGlow.com, the ones that have multiple colours and such. So I can colour match red when showing it off parked, but have it white when riding and still be legal.

EDIT: If any of you were following the other currently active led thread, you will have noted that I had a set of lights on my bike, got the ticket for them, ripped them out, saw all these people getting lights, got jealous, spent 7 hours untangling and rewiring mine, and here is the end result:

The reason I said rewire was because a few of the wires had been burned on the exhaust headers when I was (carefully, of course) taking the lights out after getting a ticket for them.

Good to know. Really like the fact that you have a control to switch modes.
Wonder if that could be setup to change colors if different colored strips of leds were installed. |

@saxnbass have you looked into this for your dual color idea? This could also be helpful to @Mr.E if you are unsure of which color you want. Or if you might be looking to do something like Eric.

Justin, go for it you wimp. It's just wiring you're frickin repainting your damn bike. That's something that I would shy away from, but electrical stuff? pssh. wimp.
OP, white is likely going to give you less trouble from the police. Plus it will look like it's a beacon at night. It's a white bike (sexy) emphasize the white. |

I am indeed kinda sorta leaning more for the white LED's lol. Anyone know anything about wheel LED's? I think those would look beast mode on a white Se

I getting the mod bug and really need to get rid of it. I think I'll be buying some white LED's today, question: How many are enough? I'll most likely be getting it from ledglow.com

I had 6 strips at first and it wasn't quite enough for me. So I got another 6 and its pretty much perfect. Only problem was it was difficult to find a place to put all of them. The 8 or 10 piece set would probably be perfect for you. Especially because white leds are brighter than colored ones. The thing about it is, you can always upgrade to more strips if need be.

Just finished ordering white 10 piece set. I'll update with pictures later since this thread has none lmao. Any tips and suggestions for placement? Thanks for all the help.

question, the one in the front near ur headligh, which part of the bike does that light up?
I really light the placement of the two wheel ones, the front whee and ones near the rear on the passanger peg holders. Just wondering what 1 light i could do without. It it possble to test lights while doing this, like have them on, so you can see where will illuminate best? Thanks x-)

Originally, that one lit up the top of the front fender but this picture is from my old set-up. But that is the only strip that has moved. That strip is now somewhat near the strip just behind it. I could definitely do without that one and not miss it at all. I just put it there because I had it.
I was going to tell you that the easiest way to do it is to get the lights all hooked up, turn them on and test them in the locations you are planning to put them. That's what I did the first time around. It definitely helped a lot. Once you've figured out where you want the strips, you can worry about running the wires and hiding everything away in the battery tray. By the way, you are going to have A LOT of extra wire left. Mine is all just zip-tied together and shoved behind the batter. I also marked the plugs and left the wires free for the lights on the farings for when they need to be removed for maintenance.

I like the 2nd version better lol. deff an improvement. so heres a dumb question, I assume when placing them you have to take the fairings off right? (Such a pain for me lol.)

Just be sure you wipe the area you are going to be sticking the strips to ensure proper adhesion.
