Frame sliders for 88-07

Why doesn't anyone make them?? Looked around and they are everywhere for 08-11. Whats the deal? You'd think there'd be a pretty decent demand for some.

For one thing, there isn't really any exposed frame or other structural members to attach sliders to. You'd have to cut holes in the fairing for the sliders, which defeats the entire purpose of them IMHO. Plus there's the view that sliders, by providing a "hook" to hang the bike on while sliding, can actually lead to much more expensive structural frame damage than just fairings. As it is, though fairly expensive to replace or repair, the fairings offer very good protection to the bits of the bike which if damaged will render the bike non-rideable or even unrepairable.

I guess that makes sense. Someone pulled out in front of me the other day and i got on the brakes too hard and my dinky front end completely compressed and cocked the front wheel sideways and over the bars i went. Scratched up the fairings where they were already scratched up from the previous owner, so i dont guess it did that much damage.

sounds like you were in the process of doing a "stoppie" and didn't follow through. you should take tips from this video:

Lol...something like that. Im about 230 and the stock fork springs dont appreciate me really getting on them.
