New Here

I bought this 2012 last night for my wife off craigslist. Has 1400 miles and a little damage from falling over. She does not even have her permit yet, so looks like it will be a fun summer for me. Looking forward to riding with her, when she is ready. I wanted to get her something that would make learning to ride easy, if that is the correct word, (easy). Lots of different people all say the same thing that this is a great bike to learn on--and it looks great to boot.

Welcome! Always nice to have another from the Northeast join us.

Hope your wife is planning on doing the MSF course... good to get those fundamentals in place.

Welcome!

I did my learning on my 250 and I agree that it's a great bike. It's enough power that I can get on the freeway, and have some fun in the canyons, but it's light enough that it's not intimidating. It's not hard to throw it into the corners.

Almost everybody tells me I'll want another bike soon but I'm not so sure. So far, still having fun.

I also learned to ride on a Ninja 250 so when I took the MSF course on a Rebel, I was much more confident & it came easily!
(Going back to the Ninja was a different story)

Welcome,

The Ninjette is a great bike to learn on, it's a great bike to ride for experienced riders.

Like @motodancer my daughter took her MSF course on a Honda Rebel. At 5'2" (maybe) she found the seat height of the Ninja 250 a little tall for her. She's about ready to pull the lowering links out and go back to stock height.
