Yes or no on these mods?

Slip on exhaust
http://www.dan-moto.com/zx-250-r-nin...rsrqtaobg5hpi2
$80.00

15 tooth sprocket
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...50R-Parts.aspx
$18.95

Rear bike stand
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...ear-Stand.aspx
$143.95

Spools
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...50R-Parts.aspx
$12.99

Rejet kit
http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com...50R-Parts.aspx

My bike is all stock as of right now. At minimum I want exhaust. Do i have to rejet if i put on a slip on exhaust? I read that i don't have to rejet but i read that it helps a lot. Do i have to remove the snorkel? I was not planning on it.

Yes or no?
Am i missing anything?
The first thing I will be doing is the exhaust and front sprocket.

cant wait till the winter is over. I have not ridden all week

Absolutely NO on the rejet kit. The jets can be bought for $5 from a motorcycle shop. Needle shims cost less than 10 cents. Jet kits are a total rip off.

As is a slip on, unless you are only interested in changing the sound of your bike

Additionally, if you keep the stock airbox and headers, you won't need to change the main jets at all--a simple shim under the needles should be the only change you need.

A slip-on alone just doesn't make enough airflow difference to change the power or intake mixture requirements significantly.

I find that the weight savings of a slip on can be worth the money if you are riding on tracks or really technical roads.

definitely get the stand and spools. The jet kit is up to you, but I see where skippii is coming from on the jet kit. I've just shimmed for a while now, and the bike is fine. I want the jet kit just because I want to see how the needles feel different and I want the hex screws for my bowls, but that's my choice to spend the money. Go with the slip-on for weight loss, ditch the snorkel, and add 2 washers to shim your needles out. That should give you a bit more kick all around. The sprocket swap is up to you

I don't think I paid more than $35 for my swingarm stand. Maybe HF? Can't remember exactly where I got it.
Sometime when I've got a lot of free time, I think I'll weld up a copy of it, and see how hard it is. Post plans online or something so everyone else can have plans and make their own, or bring it to a shop and have it done. Still shouldn't cost much at all.

Why not just go to the hardware store and buy the socket head cap screws for the float bowls? I think they're M4's.

Have you checked out the Dan Moto Jisu exhaust? It's pretty cheap like the carbon GP one but to me, it sounds a bit better....I'm a fan of the Akrapovic sound though, and the Jisu sounds similar to that...

Yeah, the Dan moto Jisu is like $86 I think, maybe a few bucks more. Just kinda gives you some variety between the two so you don't think you're stuck with just the sound of the carbon GP.

true, but I still won't get the needles. But for 2$ or so, I might as well. Are the screws on the top the same size? I'll just get 16 and replace all the screws.

I'm pretty sure they are, but if you can, just take out one screw from the top and bottom and get those same size and length screws in Stainless Steel Socket Head Cap Screws.

I seriously doubt the DJ needles are any better than the Keihin ones. Any difference in taper that does exist between the two is not going to make any noticable difference.

I haven't examined the two needles side by side, so I can't comment on what differences might exist between the two--though I'd be interested to know. I'm just saying that even if there are differences, it won't matter on a correctly tuned carb.

I've got a DanMoto Jisu exhaust on my bike. The bike came with it on there so I don't know if its that much louder than other exhausts out there… but it does sound good!

P.S.- I'm hoping to get a full exhaust system within the next month or so, so I may sell DM for ~$20
