LED stop, Brake and Running lights
I have some questions about some light issue.
What I'm trying to build is a String of 7 red LED's on each of my saddle bag. How can I run all 7 LED's to do all 3 functions(Turn, Running and Break). I have done a lot of looking online but most of it is way above my head. I was hopping that someone out there can help me with this problem. I have a BASIC knowledge of how to wire a single LED to make it work.. Thanks |

I am just going to talk about one side, since the other one would be the same, and in general terms too since I am a bit rusty.
In order to have one string do both tasks, you will either have to have a constant power and tap into the grounds on both brake and turn-signal or tap into the power on each and have a constant ground. I would suggest tapping into the power on each one with a constant ground, making sure to solder everything and use heat shrink to seal it all up. When making the splices, leave plenty of room away from the light you are stealing power from and splice the new wire into it, again making sure to use solder and not vampire clips. Maybe someone else on here can be a little more specific for you. This can be done, it will just take some time, patience and maybe a second set of eyes.
