haha I think I only put like 3k on mine. mostly commuting.

Combine only 13 weeks of summer break with being down for 3 weeks from engine troubles. Not a good summer. That's not happening this summer. My goal is to wear down these tires by mid-June so I can put new ones on for Mid-Ohio.

Man you were slacking. I just picked up some supercorsa tires this past weekend to replace my crappy no name rear tire and bald front tire. Can't wait to finally be able to go into a corner and not slide around or not be able to have much of a feel.

Yeah, I was big time slacking

Yeah you needed some new tires last time I saw the gixxer. I'm excited to ride again now.

Yeah this year the bike's going to look a lot different. Bar end mirrors, LED block off turn signals and slightly taller smoked windscreen. Still waiting on the mirrors and windscreen but here it is in winter mode.

Anyone else down to do some exploring with Chris and I?

Looking good! Poor winter mode.

Anyone who's interested in going with Brett and me, we don't ride fast. We took a nice cruise last time we were out. Neither of us want to go down, and we both spotted some gravel along the way. If you're looking to explore new roads in SE-ish OH and would rather get lost with us instead of by yourself, we're the people to ride with

Yeah we don't do anything crazy when exploring since gravel can be a bitch and it seems like in the middle of no where a lot of people have it in their driveways and it pours into the street.

Remember this part Chris? Right after you get off the highway you head toward that windy hill we got stuck behind those cars on. One of the best views on that ride along with plenty others. Definitely didn't feel like Ohio as I see it everyday.

Yeah that part was all nice. Curvy hill was nice too with the huge valley off to the side.

Yeah I went through that part of the route on Google maps since I was bored. But that's basically the PA border so maybe there will be some good roads around there.

Haven't been on here in awhile, I got kinda dumped (long story short company ended up bidding on their contract without making 100% about what was wanted and the government didn't specify exactly what they wanted so I got the short end of the stick), so still unemployed!! hurray for me... Well still in Dayton right now kinda stuck here; my aunt is trying to help me find a job here somewhere. May or may not staying in Ohio then, we shall see...

Yeah, I wasn't very happy about that but I guess that is government contracting for you. Thanks guys, I'll probably be around here for a couple more weeks and see what happens. Otherwise they said they'll have something else open up for me down the road, so I'll probably be back around summertime depending if they keep their word. I was kind of looking forward to the change in scenery...

Do we have any ideas where to meet or a route for June 8? I'm down for whatever. And I really hope I can get the bike back on the road by march but the likelihood of that is slim.

I think the plan for that one was meet-up in Columbus and head south for the day? I don't think we exactly decided on a complete route.

Depending how many of us in the NE area are interested why not meet halfway to Columbus? For us up north it's a long two hour slab, longer if we go back roads.

That was my thought process, but I don't remember. The thread was made a while back.
@kawaninja09, what's the plan again? Are we heading to the athens/marietta area or the Cinci area?

Jeremy, If I ever get the ninja down to GA to visit family, we can take a day for a ride. I don't think that will happen this season though

As long as we're not slabbing I'll be in, but the two hours down to Columbus sucks even in a car. And Chris a local forum is riding down to the Gap in June and they usually head into GA for some riding, so just tag along and you guys can ride then.

June might be hard. I can commit to 1 day off for a track day, but I can't commit to any length of time off for a road trip. I still don't know my internship situation for the summer.

Interns don't typically just the better part of a week off to go for a road trip.

Looks like I'll be living near Ann Arbor for the summer so I probably won't be able to make it on this ride. But I'm planning on getting my bike up to Columbus in the next couple weeks so I'll be good to ride around here until May. Then I will be moving to that state up north for the summer.

Then come up north a little ways in April, weather pending. Not sure if anyone else will be around yet but I'm down to ride whenever time allows.

yeah theres a couple of routes suggested they all kinda go the same way from columbus to athens area then back the way there will be on 56 which is a scenic route with a little bit of everything flat land, windy rodes through the hocking hills and on the way back we can hit route 33 back to columbus which is a straight non stop flight back to columbus.

id also be down on some other rides that others may be taking this summer.

^ You're welcome to tag along with Chris and I whenever. I ride every available weekend and I don't know how often Chris will come along this year but anyone's welcome. And if I were to do Hocking Hills I'd probably make it a two day thing since it takes 3 hours one way just to get there.

That could be an idea. Take back roads towards Columbus or Hocking Hills friday after work then spend all day saturday in Hocking. Or ride down Saturday morning and spend all day in Hocking, hang out saturday night and ride back Sunday morning. Too bad no one lives or has a cabin in the Hocking Hills area.

I can't make any of those weekends. I'm in school for all but the last one, and I'm running/biking a du-athelon with my aunt on the track at Watkins Glen that weekend

You'd think spring started today with everyone starting their bikes up and riding them. Unfortunately it's supposed to snow this week so mines not getting more insurance quite yet, but this nice weather is such a tease. As for Hocking Hills I doubt I'll make it, just found out our house is sold so now we're aiming to be moved in mid-late April or early May. Bring on the craziness..

Also, is anyone looking for a pair of gloves? I have some A* SP1 gloves in blue, size MD, that I'm willing to sell. I also have a pair of Fieldsheer Mercury 2.0 textile pants that will fit someone with a 30-32 waist, maybe smaller since they can be tightened.

Thanks Chris, I'm going to finally have a bigger place including a bigger garage! And I'm not sure about next week but this week there's supposed to be a snow/rain mix. And the first week in March seems early for spring break.
