seat - Saddlemen

Anyone have a Saddlemen seat? I am thinking about the chicane.

I got a Corbin for a really good deal and thought about Saddleman heavily before the buy. The Corbin significantly improved my ass from hurting compared to the stock seat. I got a chance to sit on the Saddleman Tech some months back, which was really comfy (ie: others have vouched for the Tech seat on "that other forum"). Needless to say, my Corbin will be going up for sale, when I get a chance to get one of those Tech seats from Saddleman. I saw a thread on ninjette that said Corbin seats are hard, but you never know how to call it because each butt is different. I am in the "Corbin seats are hard" category. Corbin does improve over stock, but for my needs, Saddleman is what I initially had my eyes on.

I have the sport low. It's really comfortable for me and much better then stock. I could ride on it all day.

Would that be the one that is 3/4 lower than stock?

I don't trust much from the other site.

I am concerned about gel and the bike sitting in the sun all day.

Yup, it's a bit lower then stock. They have the regular sport too.

I understand. I loved the Tech seat myself, it made my bum happy. I wasn't initially going to get the Tech because the material looks different than their other seats, but now I am glad I had the opportunity to test it out. Anyways, I hope whatever you decide works for you.

I replaced my stock seat at first with a Corbin

I could go a little bit longer in the saddle but I still wasn't satisfied so I sold it and bought one from a guy named Terry Adcox who sells on ebay. This is his seat for the 300

Now, for me at least with that set up I can go about 3 hours with no butt pain. BUT for my really long trips I throw my sheepskin covered AirHawk over the top of the seat and I can go for hours. It maybe over kill to some but I use my bike 90% of the time I am on the road. My car will sit for a couple weeks with out being used.

I had a gel pad (kinda like his airhawk) and it does heat up in sun and from engine.
Got uncomfy too often so I got rid of it. (was great in winter, as it would keep heat from engine better) but other than that.. not great in TN summers!!

What's the difference between the Tech vs Sport?

Also, how much does the Terry Adcox seat go for?

The tech has more padding in the seat:

But it also raises you up, even the "low" seat.

Sport:

And the "low" is actually a bit lower. Good for us Hobbits.

I paid $175.00 and if I remember correctly that included shipping.

Thanks for the info everyone!

Hmmmm. I may look into a Sport. I'll have to do a bit more research first.

That Tech....while may be functional for perineum relief...but from afar, it kinda looks like a saddle with STDs.

I ordered a lower tech saddle man for my GF and it was actually thicker and higher than my stock. I had to go back and forth with them and a few pictures before they realize that the "lowered tech" version of their seat is actually higher than the oem seat.

It was advertise as lower than oem but that is just the company not double checking before putting out the correct information on their website. I got a full refund after weeks of back and forth and multiple phone calls talking to different people.

Had the same issue. What company did you order from?

i order from the website saddlemen.com. But before i order i actually called and ask which seat gives the lowest seat height. They said either the sport lower or the tech lower. Then i ask well which one is lower and they said both is the same. Well what they told me on the phone is not true. After photos and lots of phone calls, they eventually admit they did not test it. They wasted my time. But at least they gave me a refund.

Wow, i would have expected better from the manufacturer. I went through The Hub Companies. They gave me the same run around.
