06 250r idle issues

So after all the help I got with getting my bike running I figured I’d reach out again. Since finishing the previous work of cleaning and replacing the main jets, my bike idles at a high 5-7 and if left idling without riding it will overheat. I already have been messing around with the idle adjustment knob and it does nothing, this have something to do with the idle mixture screws?

Check to make sure the throttle cables are adjusted properly. If too tight the cable will not allow the throttle to be adjusted by the idle speed knob.

Is this high-idle with or without choke on?

Vacuum leak.

An engine will only run at speed dictated by ingested air, no more, no less.
Check around boots for incomplete seating and/or rips or holes.
