too much oil...oil removal

If I put a little too much oil in the bike, what's the best way to take some out w/o removing the drain plug?

Take a spray bottle nozzle and stick it into the oil fill hole. Squirt the excess oil into a water bottle.

just pick up bike and pour it out....

Just kidding....

Use a syringe or siphon it out of the filler opening.....DONT drop anything down in there though.

I put in almost 2qt and it was overfull and that caused a leak in the stater cover since the pressure causes the liquid seal to fail. Anyways, the guys that helped me I think used a turkey baster to pull out the excess oil or maybe it was a squirt bottle.

I attempted to remove some oil today. It was a lot more work than I thought.
First, I bought a $3 siphon at the auto parts store......it was horrible. I ended up sucking on the end of the siphon to get oil moving (happy @Jiggles ?). Since the oil wasn't too appetizing, I opted to get different siphon/pump mechanism. Back to the autoparts store and spent big money....$13. Got home and it didn't work. The best result was sucking on the $3 siphon, which yielded over a 1/2 cup of oil.

I think I'll leave it alone at this point.

Seems like you could've just pulled the drain plug for a second and it wouldn't have cost you anything...

I know that now. Actually loosening the filter cap was my original plan.

You know the old saying....The shortest distance from one point to another is a straight line.

No more short cuts for me.

rather than sucking on the oil, fill the pipe with some leftover oil, assuming you have any left; that will work. You should not be ingesting Motor oil, or getting it anywhere near your face for that matter.
