Note to self....

.... when converting a KTM 690 into a boat, DO NOT store the rescue flares near the fuel tank....

hmmm clearly they over looked some things. Failure on an epic level, that's got to sting a bit.

Well, this was just a test run for the real journey. The guy wants to cross the Bering Strait.

Which means a journey from the ass end of the back of beyond of absolutely nowhere (Sara Palin's back yard) to f***ing Siberia.

Siberia.

So he's a bit of a loon to begin with.

I'm hopefully going to go on the train through the channel tunnel for the first time next year. I'm looking forward to it. It wont be as exciting as that guys boat/bike/firework machine, but I don't want it to be that exciting

I dunno if I'd trust the Chunnel. It's full of crazy Frenchmen flying helicopters that blow up.

I'm imagining the call to his insurance agent:
"Hello Nigel, I had a bit of an accident with the bike"
"So terribly sorry to hear that Francis. Are you OK then?"
"Yes, yes quite well, thank you"
"Can I see the bike?"
"Well, no, I'm sorry but you can't."
"I need to verify the damages Francis. Where is it?"
"Bottom of the Channel I'm afraid Nigel..."
