Road America tips?

On a 300, do you brake for turn 1?

Do you stay pinned from turn 8 till the end of the carousel?

Does your ass pucker at the end of the carousel?

It's been many years since I've been to RA. I can't say how it will be on a 300, but you better be ready to draft anything that moves

Also, since the corners are mostly far apart you have a lot of time to think about what's conimg next. Especially on a 300. It'll be interesting to see how many times you have to shift going through the carousel.

I can't take turn 1 at 118, so I had to brake a bit. Also that dip in turn one is rough on bikes like this with high unsprung weight on the front end. If I hit it too hard I would start to tuck the front no matter what suspension settings I did. (K-tech carts)

I'm pinned through the carousel. My ass puckers through the chicane as my flexi-flyer flexes.

You're not going to like the advice here: HP is king at RA. Run a fuel injected supersport build 300 on MR12 and gear slightly tall so you can draft someone and slingshot around at key moments.

Here's advice I couldn't keep myself: don't weigh more than 160. I was a 220 lb dude watching the skinny dudes leave me on corner exits. By turn 1 and turn 5 though, I'd know which skinny dudes weren't running MR12. Thanks VP Fuels!

Also recommend connecting a bungie to Drew Jankford.

Ha! You're one of those little dudes. Ive got you beat by half a tank of gas.

I got into the 3:09s this yr from 3:20s last yr, mostly thanks to the extra 50 cc's i added over the winter. My goal was 3:00 so I came up a bit short. Maybe Ill pony up for a trackday before next yrs race.
