[motorcycle.com] - Cody Webb Takes Fifth Win at Tennessee Knockout

Cody Webb comes out on top to claim his fifth-straight win at the Tennessee Knockout after going head-to-head with Britain’s Graham Jarvis.

Begin Press Release:

CODY WEBB CLAIMS FIFTH CONSECUTIVE TENNESSEE KNOCKOUT VICTORY

SEQUATCHIE, TN – FMF KTM Factory Racing Team’s Cody Webb went head-to-head with Great Britain’s Graham Jarvis – arguably the best extreme racer in the world –– at America’s toughest hard enduro this weekend and came out on top of the 45-minute finale, winning the coveted Tennessee Knockout for the fifth-straight time.

Webb entered the final race as thcomese top-seeded rider after strong finishes in each of the morning “knockout races” and the Californian took the lead from the start, leading Jarvis through some of toughest terrain imaginable. For two laps, Webb and Jarvis played follow the leader, with Webb leading most of the way, although Jarvis took the lead at one point after a big step-up in one of the slippery creeks. However, Jarvis fell a short time later and Webb was able to take the lead for good. From there, Webb stretched his lead to the end of the race, completing the 45-minute time period with eight laps. Jarvis was second, while Spaniard Mario Roman was third, one lap off the pace.

KTM support rider, Ben Kelly, of Team Jesters KTM Racing, came back from a nasty crash on the opening lap to finish the finale in seventh.

Webb:*“That was the hardest this race has ever been. The main was difficult and Graham was just pacing off of me, reading everything I was doing. There were spots he was faster than me, but I had a really good line going down the creek before you get back into the endurocross section and that’s where I was gaining time on him. It was a game of cat and mouse and he even passed me once, but then he fell and I think he lost some energy there and just dropped off the pace.”

2.) Graham Jarvis
3.) Mario Roman
4.) Max Gerston

6.) Cory Graffunder
