I believe that it is like the material they make stretchy book covers with so it wouldn't *totally* stop the airflow.

Bell Vortex, DOT (obviously) & SNELL 2010 rated for under $200, fits me well.

And on my noggin... taken a couple days ago, taking my first ride on my bike , after finishing my first day of MSF:

Just need to replace the clear visor, can't decide if I want just a plain ol' dark smoked visor or spring the extra money for the dark blue iridium.

Stupid question: For those of you with the colored visors, is the color of the visor the actual color that you see when wearing it... like if I got the blue visor, would everything be blue when wearing the visor? I would imagine that would really screw with perception. I've never worn a helmet w/anything but a clear shield.

Nope. Don't know about the Bell's, but the iridium Shoei visors are light smoke (if not a little lighter).

Tyler, they're Alpinestars Alloy gloves.

I like'em, they're pretty subdued in terms of styling - which is what I was looking for - and seem to have some pretty good protection. Kind of lacking in the inner-fingertips - simply perforated leather, pretty thin. I've only had them a couple of weeks and only actually used them for one quick ride in my neighborhood and then all weekend at the MSF course and some of the stitching has popped on the inner seam of my left-hand glove (about a 1/4 inch) but I think it may have to do with the sizing. My measurements put me right at the upper end of the Medium scale and at the bottom end of the Large scale and I went with the medium, they fit snugly but figured they'd loosen with wear. Apparently I was wrong.

Talked to Revzilla, they gave me the # for Alpinestars warranty dept to see about getting them replaced under warranty.

Seven Zero Seven brand. Wanted to go for the Scorpion EXO family one but the Local Cycle Gear store had an in-store special I couldn't pass up. Glad I didn't, too. Nice Vortex! I have a Bell Vortex "Striker" in Red.

I love the helmets aerodynamic's, vents flow lots of air, but the helmet is Noisey as all Hell!!! same Noise if vents are open or closed!

Is your Vortex noisey too? (as in, you NEED earplugs to wear the helmet)

I have a Scorpion Exo 400 (silver plain) and an Scorpion Exo 700 (red/black Burst) and the Vortex is totally like 2x as Noisey as my Scorpions!!!

Whats your take on your Vortex, etc?

I was planning on posting a pic when I got home today...Unfortunately, about 1/2 mile from my house, my visor flew off while I was going maybe 35mph around a corner and I couldn't find it anywhere. Time for a new helmet that actually holds the visor on

Well, here's the new helmet from Revzilla; a gmax gm68s. BTW, Revzilla took my order Tuesday night and shipped it for free to my door in 2 days. Their great service exceeded my expectations and I haven't said that about anyone...ever. The helmet looks great, it's somewhat like an icon style helmet and it only cost $97 shipped to my door with a free tinted shield (in my pics), clear shield, smoked light lens (back lights which can be wirelessly linked to your brake light for a $35 kit) and helmet/visor bags.
