I agree with you 100%. Kids these days have no respect for the parents because they do not dicipline them. The kids these days tell the parents what to do.

Tons of kids do this and it's sad an mostly the parents falt. Here a kid shanked his dad in the head with a knife. These kids nowadays just walk all over the parents and and when they don't get Thier way some go to the extreme and do things like this. A good ass beating could have prevented this.

Problem is not the parents, it's this bleeding heart society dictating how you are supposed to raise them. Parents are now scared to even try to discipline their kids in risk of going to jail for child abuse. Kids are taught extremely early in school these days that they can't be hit and if anyone, including their parents touch them in that manner then they should tell the school. Parents are getting paranoid for good reason and kids are walking all over them because of it. Get rid of the scare of the parents going to jail for using physical reinforcement therapy (you know what it is ) and I guarantee you'll start to see a change in the youth of America.

Agreed, this is a big mistake. Luckily Canada isn't this bad...yet. Rest assured that when I have kids, I'll beat them till my hand goes numb.

My mom used the wooden spoon on me. Her hand never got numb

I believe Russell Peters has a little something to say about beating your children http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nn5jlrxcpkI

Or the spatula
Or the hot wheel track
Or the 70's woman shoes
Or the belt

And don't get me started on what pops used to use in his drunken rages...

There are options galore out there. I subscribe to the "spare the rod spoil the child" methodology, with limits.

The hot wheels tracks were reserved for the siblings spats in my house. But drunken old man stories... I have many of those.

This kind of thing has been happening since man carried clubs and lived in caves (my mom was there). When I was young, kids did this because they listened to Ozzy. It's the parents... it's always the parents. They ARE society. Biggest problem nowadays is the "If I ain't gonna get off my lazy a$$ and discipline my kid, you sure as hell ain't gonna either" mentality. So now the kids get to go to school and roll over the adults there, then they get used to it and want to roll over parents and other adults too.

The kids was very respectful and polite.

Nobody saw him do it.

No motive.

He should walk! This happened in Florida.

I agree with the spare the rod mentality whole heartidly (I guess thats how it's spelled )

....but I just want to point out that the saying has been skewed over time it's actually "He who spareth the rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him correcteth him betimes" - just a little side note from me.
