[visordown.com] - Lost biker spotted with night vision equipment winched to safety
A MAN has been winched to safety after getting lost on his motorcycle yesterday. The man from Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, was riding through bushland in the Burra Rock area when he found himself in an inaccessible area, just south of Coolgardie. A plane spotted the man by chance and called for a police helicopter to pick him up. Officers in the police helicopter located the man using night vision equipment, he was spotted next to a fire waving his arms. According to the police, rough terrain made landing difficult and so the man was winched aboard. The 40-year-old was uninjured but dehydrated, and taken back to Kalgoorlie for treatment. It is unknown whether the motorcycle has been recovered yet. Click here for full story...
