I spent some time last night organizing the parts for this build...

I hope to rebuild the front caliper tonight.

I have made some progress over the last few days.

The front caliper is reassembled, and installed. ( The DOT 3 brake fluid was all I had on hand, and only used to wet the seals for reassembly. I'll use a fresh bottle of DOT 4 to fill the brakes upon final assembly. )

The engine is properly installed now.

The wiring harness is routed, and all front connections are complete.

The radiator, associated hoses, exhaust header, and headlight are installed.

I need to paint both of the handle bars, and then I can complete the front brake, and install the controls.

Your ninjette is really going to stand out when your finished and riding, or is it just to show off and admire (would be nice for a rally or bike show). That red and white really pops! Kudos

I spent a lot of time on reassembly last week, and made good progress...

Almost all of the electrical connections are done.
The front and rear brakes are installed, and filled with fresh fluid.
The carbs, and air filter box are installed. The carbs were done by Ducatiman, and I tore the air box apart to clean it out, prior to installation.
The tail, with lights, is installed.

I ran into a few snags, and must paint a handful of misc. parts to continue.

The shorter handlebar risers that I used are causing the brake and clutch levers to hit the guage pod, and prevent full turn. ( https://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Loweri...rs_on_a_budget )

I didn't yet paint the grab handle, so I cannot button up the back end until I do.

I need to paint the bar end weights red, for accent.

Oh, and I had to remove the rear wheel, for access.

LOL... I didn't think about the control contacting the cluster. I just focussed on them not impacting the tank.

It is a good write up, btw. And, now you know that someone benefitted from it.

You can try adjusting them up a little bit so they don't hit the cluster.

BTW how do you like the new risers?

I have made some minor progress forward. The grab handle has been painted, and installed. The rear turn signals are installed. The bar end weights were painted and installed. The 15 tooth front sprocket, and 45 tooth rear sprocket were installed, along with the rear wheel. I swapped in the original, painted risers. The ignition switch was installed. I might be forgetting a few little odds and ends.

I think that I am in the home stretch now...

For once, I am thinking ahead. I'll be ready for the fuel tank in no time, so I began to work on that this afternoon.

I cleaned the exterior, and then sanded it, trying to eliminiate as many of the scratches as I could. There is one nasty dent, which I will bondo, and hope to have it primed by the end of the 3 day weekend.

Be CAREFUL with those forward fairing to tank screws. But I'm sure you know that. Don't you hate all that filling and sanding? I do. Nice work.

I must have spent at least 5 hours, preparing the tank. I sanded it all, applied ( too much ) Bondo. Sanded that. Then realized that a few sections required more Bondo. Sanded that. Then an all over sanding in preparation for the high build primer.

It looks horrible now, but feels nice and smooth.

I attempted to install the chain tonight - but is was too short. I purchased it as an Amazon warehouse deal ( 6 months ago ). It looks like someone cut it too short and returned it. My 110 link chain, only ended up as 98 links ! I knew that I would need to shorten it to 106, to match my 15 / 45 set up, but this won't work.

I did manage to install the coolant overflow, side stand, disassembled and cleaned the fuel tank cap, and installed the turn signal / choke control though. So, it wasn't a complete bust.

I am so close to being ready to fire it up.

What are you going to accent the tank and fairing with?
Red "NINJA" and "Kawasaki" in red on the belly cowl? Maybe some red pin striping?

I hadn't thought about that. Perhaps my "trademark" "Ninja" on the tail, in red.

I spent waaaayyy too much time installing the tank and sorting out the chain, but I am two steps closer.

Just a few more parts, and I can fire it up!

Verrrrrrry interesting. I can wait to see it finished. Although you probably won't be able to stop modifying it for as long as you own it.

You could always place some red flames (which there wasn't any produced like that with white paint, only black w/red flames) and black Ninja and Kawasaki like the 06 models
