haha you can start from anywhere! Just make sure to attach and tape the screws/bolts to their respective pieces to stay organized!! that's if you're not already familiar with what bolts where.

Keep us updated!!

I am currently rebuilding one too lol. trying to do a full ground up refresh but we'll see as it happens.

Does the bike start and run? This determines what your next steps are....

I have removed almost everything and I think I want to change the spring/shock. remove the valve covers and have the exhaust restored. I dont know where to start. I appreciate suggestions. it started the last time it had a battery. I want to make sure the cams are all aligned properly and make sure that the rocker arms and valves are all good to work properly. I'm interested in having the starter refurbished... I know nothing of transmissions or chains. all advice is accepted and considered.

quick update, I have removed the oil and the exhaust. I will be ordering new spark plugs, oil and oil filter, brake fluid, and maybe a new shock.

Ok quick update, valve clearance are all checked and at .13mm. took out the starter and cleaned off the gunk. Got new handle bars in and I need to move the controls to the new handle bars but haven't ordered grips. Also I broke a bolt while trying to losent the clutch so that sucked, I may have to order the whole bolt kit I saw on eBay for around 60 dollars. They say they are not "Kawasaki" screws but they had screws specially made to replicate them... (Stainless steel to prevent rust). I ordered some dumb shocks from ebay that didn't fit. I hope the bolts kit fits right. I ordered some CA in order to adhere the cracks in the fairings and I ordered plastifix in order to make a mold of the pointed studs on the side fairings... I don't know what to do about the shock absorber. It came with a single eye hole and as you all know our shocks come with a u style mount for the dogbone

I still haven't installed the oil filter, oil, coolant but I did install the radiator and the fan. Next is to break open the harness casing and check for broken wires loose ends etc.

you can get replacement shock clevis mounts. Verify dimensions and threading before ordering. Be sure spring is unloaded with spring-compressor before disassembling.

coming along nicely!!! Find the 4-way common ground point and solder all the crimped connectors together. They like to corrode over time and cause issues.

Are you missing sections of your harness? Or do you just need wires and connectors? Need some more info. Probably a good idea to find a wiring diagram for your year while you're at it, multimeter too if you don't have one.

i have the complete harness, all my connections are in good working order, I was imagining you had a kit in mind when it came to heat shrink, coupling, soldering iron, maybe even replacement wire
